Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80419596 They dont want to raise interest rates to slow this economy down plus Obiden wants to pass a multi trillion dollar budget. Was Trump any better? nope... so here it comes. Uhh...YEAH! A shit ton better...that's why prices are higher now, dumbass! I swear you TDS tards are as ignorant and stupid as they come. oooh,,, name calling ,, you are so smart. But Trumps spending and now Obidens continued spending along with the others before him all are the reason for todays predicament. At least Trump had people working and paying taxes spending ,,, this guy today is just the opposite, all he has is a printing press. Dig deep in that velcro wallet of yours ,, gonna need every last dime. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80403688 United States 06/07/2021 05:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Prices are going up. As we have a rather large stockpile, we try to buy things that are on discount--regardless of we need those items or not atm. Of course, with many items that can't be done--milk and bread for instance. The large consumption items can still be had cheap--if you had time/stockpiles to wait. Those without large reserves of food, and barely adequate income are in for hard times. Some of my stockpile items, such as Spam, have gotten so damn expensive that we reduced our rotation times of stockpiles--some things have gone up a lot more than others--foods that store for long periods are amongst those. |

Quoting: Stumpknocker Over the last year, we have spent between $422-$465 per visit. We buy very similar items each time. My wife and I play a little game guessing how much the total will be to pass time while they are ringing us up. Last visit, she guessed 435 and I guessed 475. OUR BILL WAS $769 bucks! I blew a gasket. Things we bought but don't normally buy- Batteries- 1 pack each AA AAA D- $45 bucks Everything else was similar. The highest increases were for beef. You can get batteries at dollar tree: 1 pack each AA AAA D- $3 It's like Lee Iaccoca said, "Grow a brain cell, think for yourself, or die and go away." peacelove.me |

Everywhere else seems to sell what could only be considered as pink slime. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78239842 Here's a tip: I buy about $40 worth of hamburger (apx. 10 lbs.) then fry it up with onion, pepper and celery. The veggies add bulk. Then I package recipe-sized servings in freezer bags. It's amazing how many meals I can make from 10 pounds of burger. Casseroles, spaghetti, etc. And usually, there are left-overs from each recipe to boot! That's a smart way to handle the situation. Another approach for meat, if you have a separate freezer and friends to split it up is to buy a cow. I have a new delivery coming in a few weeks--250 pounds of top-grade beef for 500 bucks--even that has gone up in the recent past. I grill top grad beef/burgers several times a week--cheap. Compared to good bread, beef taken directly is a hell of a lot cheaper. Odd situation. |

So, you either need three partners for the purchase or have a mighty big freezer. |

The kind from the "baloney with a first name" company is almost that; even the lower quality turkey franks are over $3. Also, notice all that almond milk, soy creamer, "plant based" fake milk? They've got bad things in store for Elsie the Cow- they really believe cows cause climate change! |
