Why do we trust the gov's reported "vaccinated" numbers?

Hopefully this is a dumb question, but the entire argument against the covid serum danger hinges on this assertion: since 150 million people in the US have receive the "vaccine", if there were even a 1% death rate, there would be millions of bodies.

Why do we just assume that the 150 million "vaccinated" number is being reported truthfully, when all other data has been manipulated to serve their goals. The number of deaths is clearly abberant - VAERS and news articles show people dying every day immediately after the injection (but, of course, reportedly from something else). The only counter to the assertion that the injection is too dangerous to risk is the claim that hundreds of millions have been injected with no side effects.

So my question is simple, and hopefully dumb: what makes you believe that the government isn't inflating claims of the number of vaccinated?
