My husband, my 3 young children & I haven’t worn a mask even when required. Although my husband did wear one when receiving his allergy shots because he wouldn’t have been able to get them otherwise. We were always the only ones in any store to not have a mask on & very few people said anything at all, though we did get a few dirty looks.

Now, we are finally starting to see people without masks. It feels good to see common sense begin to prevail.

I never needed permission to not wear a mask because I never wore one anyway.

I live in one of those areas where about half the people never did to begin with.

I am in NC. I have not worn a mask since they lifted the mandate for vaccinated people. I am not vaccinated, nor is anyone I know. None of us are wearing them. Many businesses have the mask required signs off the doors.
One place I work we all stopped wewring them as have customers. My part time job is still requiring them for employees, vaxed or not, but customers aren't required.
Most places I have been in, very few wearing them.

Everyone is sick and tired.

East Tennessee, here it is 80% unmasked.
Personally I have gone maskless 98% of the time. The only time I wore one more than 2 minutes was at a Casino in Las Vegas last July. Otherwise I just ignored the mask nazis

I'm in a Texas town about 40 miles north of Dallas - population around 150 thousand. It seems about 70% of people still wear masks. About half the stores I go into still have signs to wear masks. I never go to Wal Mart. I have always tried to go to independent businesses and smaller chain stores and restaurants, pet stores, coffee shops, bookstores, garden supply, etc. I buy a lot of food from Natural Grocers. They still have a sign that masks are required, but don't say anything to those not wearing one- and they are friendly to them and give equal service. 90% or more of the businesses I go in still have employees wearing masks.

Re: Went Out In The World Yesterday - Maskless! My Observations.
So I went out in the world yesterday, just usual chores, but I didn’t wear a mask!! I’m in the Augusta, Georgia area, and I went to several places, Wal-Mart, Tractor Supply, Dunkin Donuts, the tobacco store, and the grocery store about 40 minutes out of Augusta in our rural area, and this is what I noticed:

In Wal-mart there was no sign to wear a mask, although quite a few were still wearing them. It seems white folks were about 70% maskless, the ones that were wearing them were older people and younger people, few middle agers like myself were covered.

The black folk were about 30% maskless, and again, older folks and younger folks were wearing them, but not many middle age folks. The Hispanic folks were about 50% maskless.

At Tractor Supply the mask sign was also gone, although the employees still wore them, mostly under their noses, and the customers I saw were maskless.

Our tobacco store has been maskless since the beginning.

Dunkin has also removed their signs and the employees who had masks had them below their noses. There was an older lady in a mask and I gave her more than six feet clearance.

In our grocery out in the sticks most of the customers were maskless, but the employees and most of the black folk still wore them.

I saw a couple people wearing their masks hanging off their ears, a sign, I suppose, that they aren’t Republicans.

How is it in your area?

Boulder,CO- Whole Foods, King Soopers, Target not requiring mask, but Barnes & Noble is...Still seeing maybe 20 % of people walking outside with masks on. I’ll never understand the thought process for that. The stores seem to be about 50% unmasked, but it’s quickly increasing. I spoke with some employees still masked and they are being cautious to see if the new variants take hold, plus they are still required to wear mask.

its so weird, i feel like we have all been living in a dystopian futuristic movie. people were being interviewed on the news and saying how they enjoyed the 89 degree weather, and being able to come out to the beach maskless and be able to breathe.

Imagine, the joy of being able to breathe fresh air, with no mask.. Truly surrealistic like watching a horror movie.

Re: Went Out In The World Yesterday - Maskless! My Observations.
I went a few days ago to the grocery store. It is a large chain in our area and they announced no masks for the vaccinated. It is strongly recommended if you are not vaccinated that you wear a mask. I took that as I am never, ever wearing a mask now there. If they want to test me for the death vaxx, they can suck on my left nut.

In there about half were maskless. All employees, no masks. Was like a blast from the past. I do remember some old kodger with a mask asking an employee about the mask rules and if they thought this was safe. Anyone asking that deserves the dirt nap.

All convienence stores and restaruants now are maskless. You still see some sheep wearing but most of us somehow broke free of this horseshit now.

I never thought the government would give up this bit of tyranny. I am guessing what they have next is much worse.

I also noticed that many were maskless in Walmart and Publix with the same demographics. A clerk in Cumberland Farms was maskless and that is significant in that the workforce seemed to be on board with this shameful scam.

Re: Went Out In The World Yesterday - Maskless! My Observations.
I'm still seeing double masks on 20% of people driving alone in their car with the windows up in Los Angeles county. People walking the street wearing them, even far away from any other soul. Like you said, mostly the young, a greater percentage of Hispanics in LA drink the Kool aid than in the surrounding counties too. Asians, bingo, but I did hear a couple of 40-50s Asian dudes in an Asian market yesterday and one was explaining to the other about how you should not get vaksed.

The homeless and my family are the only ones consistently not wearing them, occasionally see another woke person out there flaunting the expectations.
I think a lot of them are or were driven into it by the fear of random BM feyguhs attacking them if they didn't.

Most people assume if you aren't wearing one you are vaksed and "safe"

Re: Went Out In The World Yesterday - Maskless! My Observations.
I'm in North Georgia, so I am regularly around the NE section of the state from Gainseville and up. People here have fought wearing masks since day 1. I went to the local graduation this weekend - 400+ students and ONE wore a mask (a black kid). None of the teachers and only a couple in the stands. You find the same thing in stores. Blacks and old people are more apt to wear them. I think some Hispanics might just because they don't want a hassle from others. Like the young Hispanic guy in front of me at TSC yesterday was wearing a mask, so I was careful to distance 6 feet behind him. Then, he saw some white friend (no mask), and he tore his off, too, and they shook hands, and now, like, all was right in the world for the guy! LOL! I guess he knew he had backup in case anybody wanted to get on his case. But here, nobody is going to give you a hard time for not wearing a mask (except Mark of the Potter, which lost a customer). And if you drive on up to Highlands, they are pretty radical in their mask policies, so not going there again until they drop that nonsense.

Here in Toronto we are still in stay home lockdown, and all stores that are allowed to open require a mask.
Lots of people walking down the street with masks on, people driving, riding their bikes with masks on, some even with 2 masks, and some with masks and face shields as well.
Crazy.
Myself, I don’t wear a mask anywhere I go, stores, street, bank, etc.

Are you stopping people individually to ask if they have lymphoma, are undergoing chemo, or have any other plethora of diseases?

I would say mind your own fucking business. And that goes for idiot pro-maskers too who would walk up to someone and ask why they are NOT wearing a mask.

Went to Bath and Bodyworks a few weeks ago. Girl tried to give me hand sanitizer and I said no thanks. Then she offered me a mask and I said no thanks and walked on in, got what I wanted and checked out. I was the only one in there maskless.

In southern Nevada, the masks are going away quickly. My town has one remaining grocery store, Smiths, that is still on the mask bandwagon. Medical offices are still under pressure to keep the masks--even if the doctors say you can take it off--at which time they also remove those. They know it is bull shit.

For some, wearing masks is their only claim to fame and being a hero--they will not let go of their fantasy easily.

interesting, sounds like normality is returning. If normality returns, then all ok, if they just let some space to breath so to close all again due to the un vaccinated, then it will not be all ok, time will tell, for the moment, the way you describe the situation, is like a return to normality.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80399532

It is down to ALL of us for normality to return. Stop wearing mask even is they ask! I live in rural NH and see lots of ppl still wearing that useless piece of nothing! Even in grocery stores, like 95% walking around masked up.
