Re: Out of Body Experience
It's an after-effect of anaesthesia. Have pretty commonly. People who have been anaesthetized have fundamentally different brain functions than people who have never been anaesthetized.

I have considered this possibility. My experience was nearly 24 hours later. I have been under general many times previously yet nothing like this has ever happened.

I would think that general anaesthesia would be long gone and out of my system by that time.
 Quoting: Maiya

ya... general anaesthetic builds up in the liver... the effects of anaesthesia are cumulative over time.

It actually isn't good for you to experience anaesthesia multiple times.

In my case with my abdominal surgeries, anaesthesia wasn't an option to go without. I was gutted.

Did you find out if the four people standing over your bed were young doctors observing?

Or were they on the astral plane with you?

Re: Out of Body Experience
Wow that's cool, I had it happen to me one time but only for a few seconds BUT I remember.

I was sleeping on the floor one night and all of a sudden I was floating up to the side of the ceiling in the house. I was like "WTF" then I was sucked into my body. Then I was like shit.

Re: Out of Body Experience
well I have had so many OBE's since 2008. Yes, you are still you. YOU ARE YOU. with you same feelings and emotions and you see everything going on around you and then suddenly you are just back in your body.

I don't know.

Re: Out of Body Experience
If I even think I hurt myself bad or see anyone else hurt bad my body shuts down, I can see and hear but I imagine it as being in shock? Dr said I have severe vasal vagal?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80388335

I have it too. I have PTSD (really bad) and can go on "auto pilot" in a crisis. I can hear, talk and handle the emergency. It's just that *I* am not there.
Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world. -- Abraham Lincoln

I have astralled, dreamed obe and tripped for most of my life, including overlayed visions while wide awake.

Silver Cord is imaginary.. lm sorry do not get duped by these new age crap talkers.

The problem new agers have is, they read or take in knowledge from others, then beliefs does the rest. Your experience was natural, you never mentioned a "Silver cord" because there is no silver cord when it's done properly.

You silver cord freaks have no idea of death or the process, you have been deceived, no different to people waiting for family members or Jesus to save them.

Re: Out of Body Experience
Yes kind of common during surgery or medical. I was half in my body and half out, so reduced agonizing pain, for my first out of 5 child births, that took hours without the doctor arriving with back to back contractions, they didn't stop for hours and he was 10.5 lbs at birth. I shared with the nurse that this was occurring apparently to half my pain because it lessened as a finer lighter version of myself, where my consciousness was located, was anchored to me but seemed to be floating just out of my body.

She said this was common and has been relayed to them often.
 Quoting: Sungaze_At_Dawn

Do u think that your experience was because of the pain level?

I have experienced much more pain than during my out of body episode and never left previously.
 Quoting: Maiya

Yes, prolongued for nearly 5-6 hours of nonstop contraction. It cut it in half to be half out or a little out of my body but it also shocked me at the time.
