Out of Body Experience
I was recently hospitalized and had an abdominal operation. I have had 3 abdominal operations before this time. I have always stayed with my body my entire life. The day following the operation, I had an out of body experience for the first and only time.

I have occasionally watched YouTube videos and read experiences online about out of body experiences because the subject is interesting. Mine didn't match anything.

What I didn't experience during this episode: a feeling of popping out of my body (I was just suddenly out), no heaven or hell or any other place, no white light, no feeling of great love (or fear), no presence of a supreme being.

I was not afraid at all. No sense of doom. Things seem oddly normal - even time.

I, me, inside me, whatever you call it, was just suddenly in the recliner to the left of the bed where my body lay. I knew my body was in the bed still, but I had no interest in it at all.

My hearing and sight was all fine, just not in my body anymore. ME, all of ME was in the chair. Not sitting per se. Just in the chair. My thoughts at this time were: "well, this is weird" and "wow". So, I just stayed in the chair and watched my surroundings. The mounted TV was still playing. I looked out the window to the parking lot as I was on the first floor. All just fine - cars coming and going, etc.

Then 4 people were standing on the opposite side of my bed and they were looking down at my body. I didn't see or hear them walk up. They were just there. There were 2 males and 2 females - standing side by side. They looked young - in their early 20's. Perfect weight. Dressed casual. They were not glowing and didn't have wings. They looked like normal people. I did not recognize them. They didn't look at the chair I was in. They made no noise.

Then, I was back in my body. I made no decision to go back in. I just was there again.

I learned later that the pain killer I was given was only given half strength except for one time. The one time was right after surgery the previous day. The pain killer wears off in 2 hours. So, I wasn't high as a kite.

I have been high as a kite before and this experience was nothing like that.

Thoughts?

Re: Out of Body Experience
Yes kind of common during surgery or medical. I was half in my body and half out, so reduced agonizing pain, for my first out of 5 child births, that took hours without the doctor arriving with back to back contractions, they didn't stop for hours and he was 10.5 lbs at birth. I shared with the nurse that this was occurring apparently to half my pain because it lessened as a finer lighter version of myself, where my consciousness was located, was anchored to me but seemed to be floating just out of my body.

She said this was common and has been relayed to them often.

Did not see people though...

Do u think that your experience was because of the pain level?

I have experienced much more pain than during my out of body episode and never left previously.

It's better to stay in your body while you have it!

That being said, there are thousands of NDEs and OBEs from people relating their testimonies if you want to get further into it...

Your didn't seem to have content to go with, didn't seem spiritually transformation, nor did you travel through a tunnel, etc. Maybe the nerves that hold your consciousness in place, in your body relaxed for awhile, then suddenly you were out.

My opinion, is the reason you didn't experience Heaven, Hell or a Creator is that you weren't actually dead (but close to it).

I would encourage you to watch the YT video Afterlife by John Burke. It's a presentation based on his book by research of a 1000 NDEs.

A common report and experience is leaving the body and observing the room and surroundings you are in.

Re: Out of Body Experience
Bump for interesting story of your experience. Other than having children and breaking my leg I thankfully have had no hospital or health episodes like this. I would imagine this type of experience might be more common than we know. I also have read about string theory, where there may be more than one timeline adjacent to one another.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear."

When I was young I had worked a long shift and was over-tired. I went to bed and as I drifted off to sleep, I stretched my arm out toward the headboard, and it went right through it. Like a ghost arm.
Then I was above the bed and a current like a river swept me away, real fast, I was going someplace in a big hurry and it freaked me out so I tried to wake up.
Bam- I slammed back into bed like I fell 3 or 4 feet into it. Woke up the wife.

Re: Out of Body Experience
It's real, but it's a "have to experience it for yourself" sort of things.

When I was about ten, I read a book about astral projection and the world of Robert Monroe. I kind of generally wondered how, with the way the book spoke about OBEs, if it were true, it wasn't ever talked about by any adults in my life. Since leaving your body and traveling around in the astral seemed like it would have really big implications on the way we live/perceive things. So I remained agnostic with respect to OBEs/AP. "I had to see it for myself"

Around the time I read that book I started trying to astral project. Nearly every day as a child I would lay down and try and astral project. I had very very poor success.

It wasn't until I was around 20 years old that I laid down to try to AP. The best way to explain it is that I fell asleep for a moment, but then I woke up. The room was surrounded in banded orange/purple vibrations, and using my thought I flew directly up, about 300-400 meters. I felt/heard the wind rushing past me.

Suddenly I was in the astral. A very bright, white, golden and positive space. It was a white/golden city that existed in the same space as my town. There was one other being there, it was a green feathered serpent/bird on a cloud wearing regalia. It looked like what you could classically call heaven. I floated in the air here for maybe 10? seconds, and then I snapped back to my body.

About one year later, I was able to access this space for about 5-10 seconds when I zoned out on a mushroom trip as well. If I were tripping and I sat and meditated it would be very easy to blend into this space.

So, it is entirely possible. But it takes a lot of dedication of mind. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if some layers of the astral are where our conventional stories of heaven come from. Quite eye-opening.

I have considered this possibility. My experience was nearly 24 hours later. I have been under general many times previously yet nothing like this has ever happened.

I would think that general anaesthesia would be long gone and out of my system by that time.

OP, thanks for sharing.

I've had a two spontaneous out of body experiences myself somewhat recently (and two partial OBEs). In my case, it was most likely etheric projections that I experienced.

This video might be useful. It explains what etheric projection is: [link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

1st time I was 14 years old. I could feel my body and simultaneously look at it. Very strange experience to describe. It's like I was out and in at the same time.
2 places at once.

2nd time was not out of body but I was in a entirely lucid dream. In an all white room. I was able to take off and fly like superman. Wind in my face. 20 seconds I started to think how this is possible and I started to decline. Woke up before I could fall back down

Me as well, time was exactly September 11 2005 at 6:58 am. Met another Angel? Travelled back to the year of our lord 1348.(her words not mine)
I was in England I think and the Black Plague was destroying the village I was in. Truly the most remarkable thing to ever happen to me.
When I returned I found out about Robert Monro. I read all his books and even went to his retreat center in Virginia.
I suggest reading his books. I have not had another since that time. Truly incredible we humans are.

Re: Out of Body Experience
I'm very experienced at leaving my body, have done for many years. I'm old now and can't do it anymore, (l don't have the required energy or correct diet) lm not as enthusiastic as l used to be.
Generally there are a few things that are required for this experience to happen ie: an alkalining of the body, most sleep or operation medicines are alkaline, lack of food helps as well. This calms the mind and stops information and perceptions of this reality coming in.

When this occurs you now send information outwards, you change the flow of your existence.

Our gatekeepers here know fully well how we operate, so they combat our natural way of doing things by reversing the flow of information. It's called "knowledge". To achieve anything in this society 1st, you must have knowledge, to gain knowledge you must absorb everything, to absorb you must take in. Unfortunately this becomes our life and overrides our true quietness that has access to truth.

You basically jagged an out of body experience by a series of events that formed the perfect storm.

Your soul is attached to your body by what the Bible calls a "silver cord" (yes, it's in the Bible). Though your soul was hovering over/around its "flesh-suit", I assure you that you were not gone out into eternity or you would not have not come back.

Many times I believe (it's just my own personal opinion) we leave our "vessels" (bodies) while we are sleeping but we are never separated from that "silver cord."

If you want your soul to go to be with your Creator when your "silver cord" is severed when you pass through death's door, seek out the TRUE Gospel and don't be a follower of no man other than that man that that is named: "The Son Of Man."
