On May 20, 1963; Potter *Stewart* wrote a unanimous opinion for the US Supreme Court that let my father Albert out of jail.

My father went into jail on 9/10/1954 for a mail truck holdup in Greenwich Village, NYC.

Carroll Clark Hincks was nominated to a seat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit by President Eisenhower on January 11, 1954.

J. Joseph Smith was nominated to a seat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit by President Eisenhower on January 11, 1960.

Both Smith and Hincks were appointed by Eisenhower on the exact date that would eventually become my birthday; January 11, 1967. Hincks 13 years before it; and Smith 7 years before it.

Amazingly (lol); Smith was the replacement for Hincks after he resigned.

Both Hincks and Smith would rule against my father (in two separate motions) when his case came before the Second Circuit; though they were separate points of law decided in two separate cases against him several years apart.

Note the 7/13 again; 7 completion; 13 rebellion.

As noted Potter Stewart righted those wrongs in 1963. The same day my father’s case had oral argument; 3/26/1963; the Supreme Court heard another case; Jacobellis v Ohio; an obscenity case.

It was in this case that Potter Stewart was forever immortalized; with his famous quip about how “I know it when I see it” when it came to recognizing obscenity. Little did anyone suspect at the time that the lesser known case that was heard that day; Andrews v United States; a unanimous decision written by Potter Stewart; was the one upon which All of History would be changed…
