Did they ask you the other day what you're vaccinated against? That sounds suspicious to me. Maybe they're tracking to see if there's any actual transmission from the vaccinated? Maybe they just won't tell you. And maybe next time you should ask why THEY are asking about it! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76556582 I think there were questions about other vaccines, but the only one that really registered was the Covid shot. Next time, I will ask more questions. Wasn't really prepared yesterday for such a strange experience. I doubt I'll get any answers, though. These were not the decision-makers I was dealing with. That's definitely a consideration, but my diet is not too dissimilar from the last time I donated, or any of the times before that. Your blood is too thick and if it causes problem in a bag, imagine what it is doing inside you. It might be the dreaded time to see a doctor to get on better blood thinners than aspirin. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm gonna do the aspirin for a couple months and then donate again and see if it makes any difference. If I have the same problem, I'm going to go see a holistic doctor because, if it's anything to do with the vaccine, I don't trust a regular doctor to tell me. If you are taking a multivitamin, check to see if it has k? Is so, you may want to change that one. But yeah, this protein shedding is concerning. I think I will start a low dose aspirin again as well. I kind of didn't really connect the two until now. Duh! I can't really see how it would hurt anything. |

So there was plenty of blood but she was totally shocked to see normal blood and kept asking if I take blood thinners which I don't. Her reaction seeing normal blood was weird. Quoting: anon_cow So, is she seeing a lot of people with thicker blood lately? My friend, Nickadimus, who posted in this thread, was the first person I told other than my wife, and he had a similar experience recently. Sounds like this is becoming a common thing, and it's the first I've heard of it. Incidentally, I've been searching the various supplements that I take for potential blood clotting, and I have definitely upped my zinc intake over the last year, and it appears zinc may have something to do with it. I have also upped my magnesium intake, though, and magnesium supposedly has the opposite effect in blood clotting. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79470017 United States 05/14/2021 11:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It’s been over a year since I’ve donated blood, and my how things have changed. Quoting: Revbo™ The first thing they ask you, now, after your name and date of birth, is your gender. Y’all don’t know what I look like but I’m a shaved-head bald dude with a full beard so it’s pretty obvious. I was so confused at first I had to ask the lady to repeat the question. Thought I had misheard her. I wanted to make a smartass remark but I know the poor ground-level employees are made to ask this by their social justice warrior masters at headquarters. They also ask you your name and DOB repeatedly throughout the process. I think I was asked six times in the space of an hour. No idea what that’s about. I guess it’s a security procedure, but I don’t know how it improves security. The most troubling part, though, was for the first time since I started donating blood in the early 90s as a teenager, I did not fill the bag. My blood coagulated too fast and they had to pull the needle and give up after about half an hour. The nurse said that’s normal but it’s not normal for me, and with all this talk about vaccine-related blood clots and spike protein shedding from the vaccinated (I’m unvaxxed for Covid. Haven’t even had a flu shot in 12 years), I got really concerned and have started a baby aspirin regimen just in case. Since I am O-neg, the universal donor, a nearby hospital City of Hope medical Center, needs me a lot and i am there most prolific donor so I'm told. also, I live a very boring life given the form you fill out each time. Anyway, I had one donation about 2 years ago in which my vein collapsed and it stopped the donation and did not fill the bag. Boy that really stings when that happens as well. Anyway, no problems since. Also, my wife is vaccinated and I had no problem donating on May 5th the usually double dose of platelets. All this to say, I wouldn't worry about it too much. No I am not worried about vaccine shedding from my wife. Our Lord Jesus protects us from such things like it says in the last 12 verses of the book of Mark. |
