COLONIAL PIPELINE
Colonial Pipeline, headquartered in Alpharetta, Ga., delivers a daily average of 100 million gallons of gasoline, home heating oil, aviation fuel and other refined petroleum products to communities and businesses throughout South and the Eastern United States. Colonial consists of more than 5,500 miles of pipeline, originating at Houston, Texas, and terminating at the New York harbor.

Re: COLONIAL PIPELINE
depends which lines are messed up. some power plants do run on other fuels including NG. could affect prices mostly. we do have coal and dams still working.

worst will b when the fuel runs low and backs up trucking of other goods.

Yes, it's a big problem if it persists.

In the short-term, it's not a huge deal, as all the terminals along the pipeline have storage, so there is some buffer. Prices will rise but gasoline is there.

Longer term...

The Northeast can be fixed by gasoline shipments into New York Harbor from Europe. Ironically, it will raise prices for Europe too, as they will be competing for gasoline.

For the Southeast, it could lead to considerably higher prices and short-term shortages, as all fuel will now need to trucked in, and there is already a shortage of qualified truckers.

Re: COLONIAL PIPELINE
Day 4 and they are trying to figure out what to do...meanwhile there isnt enough truckers to move the gas.
And they are predicting not only high prices coming very soon, but shortages as well.
They are tightening the lid to try and get a boil over this summer.

Well I'd be stupid not to suspect that they are shipping our fuel over seas with the lumber and the chicken.
