Every time they try this, it gets shot down by just one of the 1000's of lawsuits filed against them. Even Trump got shut down over the unconstitutional bump stock ban. It won't stand! They don't have the authority that they proclaim unless the people decide to not fight this in court, or rely on someone else to fight this battle for them. I for one, am ready and willing to challenge this thru the court system, if they push this issue. I'm sure that several States will push back against this as well, because it violates State Law and classification. It's only a firearm after it has been milled. It only needs serial numbers and paperwork (form 7) if it is to be sold or willed. Other than that, it's just a parts kit and/or a personal use firearm, which is legal in most states.

What the atf is doing is not regulating but instead data mining both the makers of 80% parts and their legal customers. If they rely on the language of tools and equipment that could be used to manufacture a firearm, then every living person in this country is guilty by default. A Screwdriver, drill, hammer, etc will now get you arrested for intent because those are just a few of the tools necessary to build a firearm.

When the gubment gets their tax increases, like alcohol and tobacco recently, then all this doom about firearms will start to fade away.

Last year an 80% lower could cost you as less as $40. This year, the cheapest I've seen are around $150 (that are available). When the atf places it usage tax on all parts, the price will double or triple again, making an 80 lower in excess of $300. And all you'll have to do to buy one is present your ID in the checkout box in an online store. They may even limit the purchases to remain in your state, just like with alcohol and tobacco. Just another excuse for hyperinflation and gubment price gouging
