Is there a chance this hardgoods shortage is related to the recent blockage of the Suez Canal?
 Quoting: rccola

Suez Canal was poker table hand.
Money deals going bad, OPEC hasn't been paying their multi-billion dollar bills, they don't have the money.

Debt isn't being forgiven yet, but requests are on the table.

Seems like US is buying time. Pulling out of Afg slowly, past the May 1 deadline. Stalling on other issues too. May 1 was also suppose to be everyone vaxxed, didn't meet that either.

Rocket crash tomorrow, live from New York, it's Saturday Night.

I am a truck driver, freight rates are down

If there was a true overabundance of empty cabs due to not enough drivers then rates would be going up.
Rates are dropping, and yes there is less drivers, because who wants to deal with bs all day long to have dispatchers lying their butts off at you trying to get you to break the law to get the job done when you can make money elsewhere, or even sit your butt at home and collect covid benefits?
There is less overall economic activity everywhere. This translates into less freight required. And less fuel needed. Think about how much air traffic there wasn't for a full year and diesel still never dropped in price. Jet fuel is only cold treated diesel.
Diesel prices never went down, your products never became cheaper.
There are less trucks on the road right now than the same time last year, the per mile rate is less too.
If fuel prices go up, and shortages happen it is because someone wants it that way.

I have been seeing more and more truckers speeding on the highway. I have also been seeing many more 18 wheeler accidents in the Year 2021 than any other year too. One such accident happened over a week ago just on the overpass near my house on I-30. It was bad enough that it moderately damaged the asphalt itself. From what I saw from the photo my mother showed me on Facebook on her smartphone the involved 18 wheeler drivers were really lucky to even survive.

Just yesterday afternoon while driving to and from Sulphur Springs, TX I saw at least five 18 wheelers (3 going I-30E, 2 going I-30W) going at least 90 mph on the left lane the entire time I could see them. I have been seriously wondering why so many truckers somewhat recently all have been deciding that committing possible mass murder via totally unsafe driving conditions is well worth keeping their jobs.

Quite possibly at least two Derecho storm systems will overlap by at least some to help maximize whatever damages there can be.

This is my town's ten day forecast:

[link to weather.com (secure)]

This coming Sunday we were forecasted to get alot of severe weather. The front page of the National Weather Service even shows alot of severe weather for this weekend for Texas and Oklahoma at least. Just like last weekend the NWS stopped forecasting severe weather for my area some days before that fateful day. Literally that morning the NWS started to do a forecast of epic severe weather for my area and for the South as well.

I am figuring it may very well be a repeat of the same or similar this Sunday for my area. I am wondering if the National Weather Service is doing this psychological weather warfare BS as to help maximize as much property damages, Earth damages, and human and animal injuries and death tolls. After all, if you have no to very little forewarning of imminent severe weather for your area chances are you will wind up being mentally, emotionally, and/or physically unprepared for when said severe weather inevitably comes to town.

These society bots can't even conceive of the idea that their lifestyles en masses could be long scale unsustainable

They operate unconsciously from a standpoint that there could never possibly be a wide scale shift that could impact their pocket of insulation or their 'first world' lifestyle

Or, more likely, the thought never occurs to them because they are what amounts to basically an economic mover drone, basically an unconscious golem

if the simulation scriptors decide to really shake things up, it would be complete chaos because these golem would quickly go insane

This is dumb as hell...every year as hurricane season approaches, some moran comes in with "Auntie Intel"...

All Americans should be prepared for gasoline shortages as the refineries and pipelines mostly originate on the Gulf Coast.

The further away from the pipelines you are (Houston & New Orleans) the higher your gas will be.

This whole notion of a "cyber" attack bring down the country is just hard to believe. Does gasoline travel through wires? Does gasoline come from hard drives? No. Unless people have become so stupid that they forgot how to manipulate the physical world, cyber attack isn't going to stop anything but tik tok nurses. Selfie takers might have some serious withdrawl, but it will do us good to get back to the analog (real) world again. How did we ever make it this far as a civilization without all the cybers? Seems like aspects of the old saw of "supply and demand" is being somehow upended.

I'm sure parts of the economy, including the stock market, are as Dominion-ized as the November 2020 election was. Why would it not be?

Lies, greed and three-card-monte games are the new ethos.

Some of it moves up or down with political trends, like a Trump vs a Biden in the Oval Office. But a lot of it seems to be baked in.

This happened yesterday!

Top U.S. fuel pipeline operator Colonial Pipeline has shut its entire network after a cyberattack, the company said in a statement on Friday.

Colonial's network supplies fuel from U.S refiners on the Gulf Coast to the populous eastern and southern United States. The company transports 2.5 million barrels per day of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other refined products through 5,500 miles of pipelines.

Colonial Pipeline says it transports 45 percent of East Coast fuel supply.

------------ roughly a 50% snip ------------------------------

That is utterly crazy to know some of our nation's most precious and important infrastructure is so easily remotely hacked.

Currently formulations of gas won't store past a couple months, stocking up is nearly impossible, even with stabilizer.

Diesel you can store, propane you can store, natural gas you can store. Gas won't last a winter in a lawn mower, you can't store it very long nor can you store enough of it to make a difference if a true shortage comes.

Re: Unkil Intel- Planned gas reduction
Friend works for Exxon Mobil, employees were all told to stock up on gas. Planned reduction due to foreseen? ...Cyber attack.
I’m in Louisiana, don’t know about other States.

Keep vehicles full and extra gas cans you can store safely.
