I was having a conversation with my dad on the phone and he mentioned scag lawnmowers because he was taking it in for repairs and the very next day I had ads on my phone for those specific lawn mowers, never looked them up before, never heard of them before talking to my dad.

That stuff is outrageously effective.

No word of a lie now, but coincidences can happen and you think whoa that's crazy weird...
Once whilst working in Holland, I was in a bar at the weekend in Amsterdam. I got talking to a couple at the bar and the guys name was the same as me, Lee. Shortly after, a guy walked in and the barman shouted hi Lee to that guy and we just thought wow another one. This happened within 5 minutes... Now, I'd had a bit of s splif, so thought this was a bit trippy... then like 10 minutes later a second barman came in to join the others behind the bar as it was approaching the busier evening shift, the first barman, who had obviously heard us talking, came over to us and said, you're never gonna believe this, but this guy is also called Lee - this new barman looked at us and said, yeah so what - what's up, like he obviously didn't know that there was now me, the guy from the couple, then the other customer and then this new barman all arriving within maybe 15 mins. all with the name Lee. Crazy man. The first Lee I met at the bar was Lee MacDonald, a guy who played 'Zammo' from a UK program called Grange Hill that I' watched a kid.

Sometimes I think there are ads for things on a web page that you simply viewed ... that somebody else wrote.

This does not matter. It uses an algorithm that learns from EVERYTHING you have EVER searched for over the course of time.

If you ever use google voice to text, it reads those and also feeds the algorithm that way too.

Ray Kurzwiel who is now at google had said in the past (I cannot find the quote) that in time, you will merely have to open the search engine to have the app or page give you the result you are looking for, WITHOUT actually typing anything.

They want to accomplish this with things like location awareness, tracking you from the past, and other things they feed into their AI.

Some phones do this with apps. My iPhone will know when I am near my gym, swiping down will give me apps I have used in that location in the past.

Google's own Pixel phones do this too, predictive based on where you are, and what you have done in the past.

It is a nifty feat of machine learning.

Let's hope the machines never reach the singularity that or Ray predicted.

Yes, I agree Google or AI or wifi or the net is reading minds. Seen it happen too many times.

I took the WeChat app off my cell phone 2 years ago. One of the permissions it required was monitoring your vital signs. Just checked today and it no longer says that although the permission is probably still there under different wording.

People think all sorts of rubbish, and plenty of communication is not words in your brain.

That sort of tech would be useless in humans interacting.

Although i assume, they want more non verbal communication to happen, seeing what they are doing to humans.

But if everyone knew what everyone was thinking, it would be a very isolated world, where people would all stay away from each other.

What you suggest is wrong, as humans communicate in more ways then what we think in our brain, and most times what we think in our brain is not what we actually want.

Its a non starter for me, and i have lived with 29 years of these people using synthetic mind control on me.

They totally ruined my life, for nothing, and they are totally useless at understanding me, after 29 years.

That sort of tech, is not really workable, as thats not how human brain works.
