Re: Boy I miscalculated!!!!
any safe that weights 2500 lbs should protect whatever is in it from and elements... cash and gold dont deteriorate either so you prolly full of shit

if your not u need to use rollers that can support the weight like a lolicollumn... u should be able to move 2500 lbs through the house jist dont go over wide unsupported areas.. (long spans with no walls/support underneath)... you def need supports under wherever the final resting place will be or it will just start sagging/caving in

You could get some black iron pipe cut to fit under the safe while being narrow enough to make way through thresholds. Cut a few pieces and just roll it right into place. You may even be able to do this by yourself which will keep knowledge of your safe from others.

Op, I have the solution. Build a piano skid. Look that up. And then have several friends help.

If your house has ground level access where you want the safe, do this:

Build the piano skid, don't skimp on length or strength, you need the whole skid. Use the leverage the skid gives you to get the safe into the back of a pickup if you can drive around to the back of the house. Offload the piano skid by pulling on it, then pull it to where you want the safe. Deposit the safe where you want it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78160062

DO NOT try the stairs, even with the skid, and make good and sure the tail gate is not on the truck.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78160062

And op, you want the LARGE piano skid, one for a Bosendorfer or one of the other GIANT grand pianos, not one for an upright. This should be fairly cheap to build, probably less than $100 and you can use the materials afterward.

Piano skids don't have wheels, they are 100 percent slide.

Alright guys I'm going to combine a few ideas on here. I'm gonna first quit bitching and get to work like an AC suggested. Im gonna call buddy of mine at Sunbelt Rentals and see if he has one of these high capacity motorized dollys. If not them it looks like I'm gonna pay the fucking 1000 bucks.

When I ordered it didnt say anything about extra cost to bring inside. I told the place where it was going and the lady said as long as its first floor it should be ok. Otherwise I would've paid. But now for them to come back put it's an extra 1000bucks.

I'll let y'all know what happened and figure put IMGUR and post some pics. Thanks guys!!

Another idea: if there's concrete the whole way, then just build a dolly. But there's probably not that, which means the only serious solution would be a very robust and large piano skid.

Dude I posted for the brain trust on here and there are some good ideas. I've got a million things to do right now so allowing some people to help me figure out something while I do other stuff is efficient use of time

What kind of house can support a 2500 lb safe rolling across?

Are you rich complaining about $1000?

What degree of freemason are you?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80225474

My floor is torn up right now. It's just exposed concrete. It's an ideal time. I'm not a freemason. I'm a dumbass tree company owner that got lucky. A thousand bucks is a thousand bucks. I already spent more than I wanted.

I'm not trying to flex. It's not like it's a 10k dollar safe. It's a used AMSEC safe with a TL 30×6 rating I got for 2800. Hardly freemason level money numbers.

So I'm a pretty stout dude, I can deadlift around 500, i can squat reps with 350. But I've got a massive problem that I cant even budge.

I ordered an AMSEC high security home safe and it was delivered today. However, the assholes I ordered it from only put it in my garage. I didn't know I had to pay extra to have it maneuvered in my house. I even offered the delivery guys 300 bucks and they said no. They had a motorized dolly, but they still said no.

Normally this isnt a problem, but the damn safe weighs 2500 lbs!! How the ABSOLUTE FUCK am I going to maneuver this thing through my house. It's like manhandling a Honda civic.

I called the delivery company and they want an extra 1000 bucks to do it.....with a motorized dolly. Fuck that....for now.

I'm contemplating using a pallet jack but my one problem is the 2 inch step up into my house from the garage. I've got a few of my guys that work for me willing to come help but I have no answer yet for how to get it over the step.

I REALLY don't want my precious metals and cash exposed to the elements in my garage. Anyway just thought I'd vent here on GLP since I have no life outside of family and work.

Ahhh, the life of a doomtard.

Just bolt it to the concrete and be done. Put the grand in sulfur scrubbers and dehumidifiers and you’ll be fine.

I just dont want it in the garage. It's already full. I'm gonna look into a motorized dolly to rent. The only question is do they rent out a 2500lb one.

Pay the $1000 bucks and then they are responsible for getting it in the right location, safely with no damage. Otherwise if you mess up, it’s your cost to fix.

Also, something that heavy needs to go in basement in case I water damage or fire, you don’t want that crushing something or someone if it falls through the floor.

You should've bought yourself a brain instead. Firstly, The whole point of a "safe" is to protect what's in side from what's outside. So wtf are you worried about "exposure to the elements"?

But secondly, and MUCH more importantly, why THE FUCK are you storing your wealth in something as stupid as "Cash and PMs"?? Cash is WORTHLESS so putting it in a safe is not going to be helpful. PMs are USELESS and even more so when they're locked in inches of metal.

Only cryptocurrencies provide safety, security and actual protection for your money. Storing DASH on a ledger hardware wallet for example is perfectly safe and secure. Although you could use that safe to store your seed phrase backup....
