So the back of the safe will be in the garage. And the front will be in the house? You can always camouflage it with an old piece of HVAC equipment. Cowards. Quoting: iseeyourmind Yeah man I'm pissed!! They had a hell of a nice dolly. It had rubberized heavy Duty wheels that climbed steps and a little hydraulic thingy that folded out an supported the weight for them. It was a straight shot from the garage down the haul and literally right into my office/computer room. I looked up a dolly and they are like 5 grand and I only saw up to 1800lb capacity. This safe is 600lbs more. I bet I was looking at a 7k dolly "She isn't real.....I can't make her real" "Somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep...Disorder, Disorder, Disorder" "The World is a business Mr Beale..." But I've got a massive problem that I cant even budge. Quoting: Just Passing Through..... I ordered an AMSEC high security home safe and it was delivered today. However, the assholes I ordered it from only put it in my garage. I didn't know I had to pay extra to have it maneuvered in my house. I even offered the delivery guys 300 bucks and they said no. They had a motorized dolly, but they still said no. Normally this isnt a problem, but the damn safe weighs 2500 lbs!! How the ABSOLUTE FUCK am I going to maneuver this thing through my house. It's like manhandling a Honda civic. I called the delivery company and they want an extra 1000 bucks to do it.....with a motorized dolly. Fuck that....for now. I'm contemplating using a pallet jack but my one problem is the 2 inch step up into my house from the garage. I've got a few of my guys that work for me willing to come help but I have no answer yet for how to get it over the step. I REALLY don't want my precious metals and cash exposed to the elements in my garage. Anyway just thought I'd vent here on GLP since I have no life outside of family and work. Ahhh, the life of a doomtard. Just bolt it to the concrete and be done. Put the grand in sulfur scrubbers and dehumidifiers and you’ll be fine. Seeker 2 |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80225474 Are you rich complaining about $1000? What degree of freemason are you? My floor is torn up right now. It's just exposed concrete. It's an ideal time. I'm not a freemason. I'm a dumbass tree company owner that got lucky. A thousand bucks is a thousand bucks. I already spent more than I wanted. I'm not trying to flex. It's not like it's a 10k dollar safe. It's a used AMSEC safe with a TL 30×6 rating I got for 2800. Hardly freemason level money numbers. And then have several friends help. If your house has ground level access where you want the safe, do this: Build the piano skid, don't skimp on length or strength, you need the whole skid. Use the leverage the skid gives you to get the safe into the back of a pickup if you can drive around to the back of the house. Offload the piano skid by pulling on it, then pull it to where you want the safe. Deposit the safe where you want it. |
