Adding Mississippi and Alabama will only increase the burden on Texas. The federal government gives a lot of money to those states.

It’s a bad idea because it ends up weakening both “countries.” Balkanizing America is not a recipe for success.

And as a more practical matter the infrastructure there isn’t capable of operating independently. Had the electrical grid there failed completely earlier this year, Texas would have become a failed state, with total supply chain disruption, irreversible water supply contamination and dependent on foreign aid.

There are a lot of things you haven’t thought about.

The Dems are going to try and blame Russia. Texas will be sanctioned like other Countries and the GOM blockaded, Cuba style.

If Florida were motivated to join Texas I think it would divide the State of Georgia. I was thinking this the other day. It would cause a sort of Mason/Dixon line dividing North Georgia and South Georgia which would sort of be in a coalition with Florida being as Savannah and the Sea Islands along the coast have more in common with the tourist industry.
