POLL: WHEN will the REAL ESTATE MARKET CRASH?

I have been paying very close attention to it. Sold my home in December and did very well. I am now renting and want to buy but I think it would be a mistake.

Several realtor friends think a crash is coming. I originally thought it would happen mid summer.

It would be great to hit this right for once!

This can go on for quite sometime.

if 40 million houses suddenly come onto the market due to owners' vaccine deaths, that should depress prices.

You can see them snapping up real estate and hard assets like there's no tomorrow.. Once they think they converted enough dollars into hard assets~? or their are no more hard assets to buy. The floor will drop out and the plebs will be left holding the bag..

Now this is where the rich make the real money.. Swooping in and buying or foreclosing on the plebs assets for pennies on the dollar.. This story is replete throughout history and covered in course, Empire Collapse 101.......

A few months after they dump all the homes that should be in foreclosure but are not because Congress said the banks can not foreclose due to the Covid.

I don't think it will crash as hard as you think. Yes, there should be some correction that will take place, but the inventory is so low compared to the last crash. COVID didn't kill all jobs as bad as 2008. It killed jobs for people who weren't buying houses anyways.

Prices will crash when the FED loses control of the yield curve and rates normalize to 6-7%, it will cut affordability in half, I'd expect at least a 50% loss in current values when - not IF - it happens.

Lol never, the plan is to buy it all up and rent it out forever. The only thing that will drop prices is a massive depopulation event. For now, the plan seems to be importing poor, stupid masses that will be dependent on State assistance/section 8 housing.

Lots of good stories inn the web explaining why Black rock and others are aggressively buying real estate.

This. It used to be condos were king, but I'm seeing a lot more apartments go up now. Hanging on to the property is more valuable now, because there is less land at good price to develop.

I should sell my condo and get the new mid engine Vette and run the shit out of it before the whole system comes tumbling down.

It won't happen as long as the government still allows every Juan and Juanita across the border. For everyone of those fuckers that hops the border the price of real-estate goes up because more people need houses.

Also inflation is another issue and I don't see that coming down ever.

The only way I see this changing is if there is an event that wipes out a good portion of the population. Then and only then will the price of housing drop but I have a feeling that if this happens the Chinese will just buy it up and move into the house.

Lots of money available to knock down old housing stock and rebuild new energy efficient housing stock

They know the legislation is coming, they know what it says, they are buying the appropriate housing/rental stock to qualify.

Everyone else is being caught in the crossfire and paying for houses that won't qualify for the money

there is 30 Million Chinese millionaires. Canadian real-estate only needs 100k of them every year to buy condo and prices will grow 10-15% a year. Not a single Canadian needs to buy one condo for this to happen.
