I had the exact same Sony as in the OP.

Also now have this JBL. Got it 'cheap' a few weeks before Christmas. Bad ass indoors or out. Can even plug phone charger into it.

Not about to test out the throwing in pool theory but I've heard the same. I have had it out in the rain a few times.

I have the mini version of it, the Charge 3. Waterproof, charges phones, just smaller. I use it every night now to play thunderstorm sleep sounds. It helps.

Somewhere in my apartment is a pair of Sony headphones. I can't believe I lost them, my apartment is quite small.

I've had a connection to JBL speakers since I was 18. I was in a cover band and that's what we used. I also worked for a DJ and he did too. I remember years ago when I was learning bass guitar I bought a massive bass amp with a JBL speaker. I lived in an apartment then so I couldn't crank it.

One day the neighbors upstairs were fighting and making a lot of noise.

I said in my mind "You want noise?" and I turned up my amp and just hammered on my bass guitar.

They shut the hell up.

Yep that's the one I had. They were great. Instant portable party.

I also had the small black tape recorder, I used to tape songs off the radio with that one. Had hours of fun interviewing people with it too.

Did you use the headphones with the big jack? I kept mine for many years. I shouldn't have thrown them out. They should be in a museum.

My Aiwa stereo was awesome, especially for being so small, had two of them, well one's my sons, he still has his, killer sound.

Remember 8 D size batteries??? What's that cost these days? 25 bucks???
