The supply chain about to go nuts
This is what they've been hinting at. Already I've noticed that food prices at the grocery stores just went up 25-30% in the last few months, but from even the "leaked" memo of the Liberals the supply chain will tank. This isn't just for Canada but probably all of North America or more. Being stocked up as best as you can is a good idea now. For me here, it's much harder as I also have no house or car and I cannot live outside when it gets so cold in winter. Oh well. No fear.

You ain't lying OP. I just cashed in some 'holdings' and bought a shitload of preps. I have an acres worth of veggies growing and my chickens are now laying daily. I have my milk man and my beef man lined up and I've treated them VERY well with cases of beer and other gifts to kiss up and make them feel all special and warm inside.

Thank GOD I have 4 kids to distribute chores or I'd be in trouble. My step-daughters are little city girls so it's been hysterical seeing them learn how to do some basic things but I truly feel the value of learning to wild forage, take care of animals, and grow food is immeasurable.

Now, i need to perfect canning and salting meat....we're all learning here at Just Passing Through ranch.

Awesome. It will help. We call could see this coming, but no one could predict when. It seems it will be in the next few months now as per even the "official" sources. Of course I think this will be staged. They will disrupt everything to force people into government hands.

Thanks. It's the most likely outcome. They are creating much of these scripts and we all follow them. Too much reactionary actions by the population and not enough taking charge and taking the power back. It is almost too late already when the population was turned against itself with almost half being nuts about the vaccines and everything else.

Thread: Prepare for no gasoline this summer.

Today they announced summer gas shortages. Thanks! Only way to travel will be on packed super spreader planes for the vaxxxed and covid negative.

This will also affect supply chain.

Our rural walmart has recently redone their store. They've removed top shelves and re-arranged all departments to make it look like they have more stock. Every time we go, doesn't matter what day, food shelves are lacking, less selection. Redid their self checks in a stupid counter intuitive way to process your goods.

Smaller local groceries seem stocked still for now. Installed self checks in last few weeks.

Lumber has tripled in price since 2019.

Have known for almost twenty years. I thank the messenger every day for giving me a heads up and continuing to guide me throughout. My dad knew too. His hidden intentions from my mother when they bought our place was to prepare a place for his family for what he saw inevitably coming. By the grace of creator we'll get through this.

I was a department manager of their prototype store a few years ago for a few weeks. The shelves were always half empty LMAO. So much stress that I left with no notice. The pay was low also. They were yelling at their own workers in front of customers on the floor. The super dominant store manager went all quiet tho when I made a mistake and she and my boss tried to joke about the stolen items recovered bin. That day I was in a bad mood and told her and they both immediately went quiet. They knew their place.

Can you buy some emergency food rations off Amazon. Those things are good for like 25 years.

Thanks but I don't support Amazon. One of the few I ordered only once or twice from then stopped because they treat their workers like shit and are even worse than Walmart. Once my account got locked out since I forgot my password I let it expire. Not enough place in my apartment anyways to store much. If something big happens we will probably starve here as most people will. This area here is NOT conducive to living off the land.

Re: The supply chain about to go nuts
Perhaps it is time to restock on basics?

My favorites:

rainydayfoods dot com for long term storage flour, grains, beans, pasta, powdered milk, etc. For example, they sell 50 lb. bags of wheat triple-bagged for long term storage. You need a grain grinder to make fresh flour.

Freight is less of a pain if you buy a pallet at one time.

bulkfoods dot com for spices, dried fruit, nuts, etc.

Local LDS/Mormon stores for #10 cans of all of the above.

freshroastedcoffee dot com for bulk buys of coffee beans (cannot survive the Apocalypse without java!). I recently got excellent beans for about $5/lb. on sale. You can buy green coffee beans from them, preserve in jars or buckets, and roast on the stove when you need some. Green coffee beans will last for years.

Uline dot com for 7 gallon food grade buckets, gamma lids, canning jars, etc. to pack your food.

I also use a Food Saver to vacuum pack food with oxygen absorber packets inside.

I have been using Kroger parking lot pickup to stock canned goods, jugs of fruit juice, etc.

The book, Passport to Survival, has excellent info on recipes, preserving foods, etc.

The Ball Canning Book is available online for free.

Once you start eating low on the food chain with staples such as beans and rice, lentils, etc. and start baking your own fresh bread, you will save a LOT of money.

Trust me I hate Amazon because I worked there for 4 months and got carpel tunnel in both hands and trigger thumb and I was expected to work through it for 10 hour days. Had no issues before starting the job. Expected to pack 1 box per minute no matter how heavy or the number of items.

Maybe a Bass Pro shop or an outdoor hunting/fishing store will have them. Canned Soup is also an option.

I should have added:

I am not a fan of freeze dried food. Used to eat it while backpacking.

Then, I got smart and started making my own rations using converted rice, pasta, etc. Much cheaper and often tastes better.

Freeze dried is expensive!

Lots of people in your situation. Even homeowners in the near suburbs haven't enough land for a garden.

This is no joke, I work for a new home construction business and we are having a shortage in a lot of things...

Lumber,
Windows,
Paint,
Siding,
Brick,
Stone

basically most of the stuff you need to build a house

Prices have been going up and up on materials making us have to charge more and more when we sell it
