Lived the 70's, 80's & 90's When I was Young & Now I'll Have Almost 50 Years of Normal. I am also 49 So, the 70s was great for me as a child The 80s were awesome for me as a teen I got my first car in 87 when I was 15 wasn't able to drive legally alone until 88 But those 2 years were great Then the early 90s which were just like the 80s were also great I think the 90s were OK up until around 98 90s were fine as far as people and the way the world was It was changing but not that quick If you base the 80s purely on when you started driving and partying then yeah it was short But I was partying when I was 13 so my 80s were fun earlier Similar for me, I'm 48 now but was "partying" at about 12 (not that I recommend that). I also started working at 12 in an ice cream shop where the Iranian owner paid me cash under the table. Bought my first car at 15 and had my learner's permit. Snuck out with my 15 year old friend one night and we drove to Balboa Point (the young person hangout near Newport Beach, CA) and we drove around with just me having my learner's permit! At age 16 we started driving down to Tijuana on the weekends to party at the gigantic nightclubs. The age to get in was supposed to be 18 but they always let us in. They had sand volleyball courts on the roof and we'd be drinking and paying volleyball at night, lit up by the lights of Tiajuana. As you can tell, I didn't have much adult supervision as a kid, LOL...but I always had money because by my teens I was waiting tables. I'd get back from Tijuana at 5am and work an all day shift at the breakfast house starting at 6am. It was easy at that age. I partied hard like that too but I started a little later around age 19-21. I was playing music at bars since 15 but I behaved myself for the most part. Didn't start drinking until 18. When I could get in the nightclubs in Knoxville, I would party until 6 AM and then drive home looking for whatever was still open. Steak & Shake, Vic & Bill's Deli, the porn store in town... I didn't want the fun to end. |

My town is a fluoride town (surprise, surprise..) but I filter my water with an expensive filter and I use fluoride free toothpaste. I loved the tech transition in the 80's because it was fun. The music was fun, the arcades were fun... but it changed dramatically. Now kids kill their parents if they get their technology taken from them. They are addicted. |
