I would have liked another couple decades of good life but I shouldn't be greedy. I feel bad for the young people living now. They got fucked.

Now as I get older, the world is falling into oblivion. It's like the whole world is dying at the same time I will.

I'd like to see Mother Nature do the reset rather than mankind though. Trust the Science? -"Nope."

I trust the Nature. Nobody does a reset like Mother Nature.

I am glad for the memories. I was born in the late 50s/early60s (not comfortable giving my birth year). My formative years were the late 60s and the 70s. I am glad we had better times and excellent music and a much better culture.

That was all ruined though, through manipulating and controlling the music industry, the media, Hollywood, all the mainstream news sources, etc. Brainwashing the masses through the mass media, with the help of fluoride, toxic chemicals, toxic environment, etc.

Actually things started deteriorating in the late 70s. By the 80s things were rapidly getting worse. But still the 1980s and 1990s were very good in comparison to what we have now.

I am also 49

So, the 70s was great for me as a child

The 80s were awesome for me as a teen

I got my first car in 87 when I was 15 wasn't able to drive legally alone until 88

But those 2 years were great

Then the early 90s which were just like the 80s were also great

I think the 90s were OK up until around 98

90s were fine as far as people and the way the world was

It was changing but not that quick

If you base the 80s purely on when you started driving and partying then yeah it was short

But I was partying when I was 13 so my 80s were fun earlier
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78213125

Similar for me, I'm 48 now but was "partying" at about 12 (not that I recommend that).

I also started working at 12 in an ice cream shop where the Iranian owner paid me cash under the table.

Bought my first car at 15 and had my learner's permit. Snuck out with my 15 year old friend one night and we drove to Balboa Point (the young person hangout near Newport Beach, CA) and we drove around with just me having my learner's permit!

At age 16 we started driving down to Tijuana on the weekends to party at the gigantic nightclubs. The age to get in was supposed to be 18 but they always let us in. They had sand volleyball courts on the roof and we'd be drinking and paying volleyball at night, lit up by the lights of Tiajuana.

As you can tell, I didn't have much adult supervision as a kid, LOL...but I always had money because by my teens I was waiting tables. I'd get back from Tijuana at 5am and work an all day shift at the breakfast house starting at 6am. It was easy at that age.
 Quoting: Off Grid AZ

I partied hard like that too but I started a little later around age 19-21. I was playing music at bars since 15 but I behaved myself for the most part. Didn't start drinking until 18.

When I could get in the nightclubs in Knoxville, I would party until 6 AM and then drive home looking for whatever was still open. Steak & Shake, Vic & Bill's Deli, the porn store in town... I didn't want the fun to end.

My town is a fluoride town (surprise, surprise..) but I filter my water with an expensive filter and I use fluoride free toothpaste.

I loved the tech transition in the 80's because it was fun. The music was fun, the arcades were fun... but it changed dramatically. Now kids kill their parents if they get their technology taken from them. They are addicted.

How old are you OP?

I'm 49, so the decades match, but I would say I didn't really "Live" the 70's, you know...

I absorbed it but didn't live it.

Also, the 80's, by the time I got a car, it was over. 1988 forward sucked as rap and crack replaced rock and weed/Acid. Douchebags with beepers and Z Cavaricci...

The 90's with lumberjack girls out of their minds of superweed too strong for normal people, depressing whiney Grunge...(good movies though)...

The 00's with 911 and realizing how fake and fucked everything is...

The 10's with Obama/Trump cartoon politics

Yuck.

To really have lived the last "Best Days" I think you need to be born...oh...

1958-1960

Old enough to remember the Beatles and the Breakup

Old enough to be able to Catch Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath live

Old enough to have experienced Disco, Quaaludes, LSD (The real kind)

And Old enough to have gotten every scrap of enjoyment out of the 80's and technology before we became it's bitch.

Old enough to have figured some shit out by the 90's and have a job and start a family and avoid the dreary single life of a 20 something trying to navigate those bullshitty waters.

And don’t listen to the bomers when they say “ we built this nation “

Bullshit it was their parents and grandparents who were tough, mentally and physically. They are the generation that built this nation.

The bomers. All they did was play “ keeping up with the Jones” game and made “Bankruptcy” a common household name by the late 80’s and 90’s

In another words that is when shit started screwing up. When bomers were adults. And spent money instead of raising kids properly.

If you idiot bomers, did not play the game of “keeping up with the Jones”

Instead focusing on raising your kids properly.

Then maybe your grandkids would not be these over medicated liberals that we see today.

The only reason I came out differently, ( my parents fall under this idiot bomer generation).

Because my grandfather from the 1920’s whom fought WW2 under Pattons command. Warned me, that he was worried about his grandchildren ( my cousins) because they have shitty parents. He specifically said, soon the world is going to be a shitty place.

He witnessed the generational shift happening

I'm so very happy I retired before the scam-demic hit...I feel very lucky as well!

I just went next door to where they are building a house, and the contractor recognized me and complemented my work over the years...He used to bring me his fleet for repairs...He said everyone compliments my work and mentions my name around town...it's nice to be recognized and it's far from the first time, though it has been awhile lol

March 19, 1982 everyone (and I mean everyone) showed up with a black arm band and a truce was called for a week, which lasted many more. WHy? Randy Rhoads died. ANd his guitar playing was enjoyed by everyone.

28 here, father of a 15 month old, my wife and I are beyond fucking pissed. Hoping Florida can pull off a miracle and manage to keep some decency and avoid apocalyptic ruin. We know it’s coming, we see it, we feel it, we hate it. TPTB can go to fucking hell.

You have a collection of old billionaires near the end of their lives that feel that they are saving the planet. They aren't. Technology is destroying us, not helping us.

A giant CME from the sun would come in handy 'bout now.

I lived through the 60's too. The 70's weren't a great period except for the music. 80's were pretty cool. By the 90's I was raising a family and now I am glad I am almost set to retire.

I had way too much fun in the 90's... man, I miss it.

Yeah I could feel sorry for the millennials, except that they curse everybody. Listen you little shits, WE didn’t do this to you - they did this to all of us.

Sure maybe things were better in the 60s or 70s, the 80s even the 90s, but things turned to shit like this because we all trusted our government, we believed them. And they lied to all of us and led us right into this - whatever this is We are living now.

More then 3/4 of your generation was smoking weed and turning into Zombie hippies.

Your generation did it to yourself, you guys partied and sat around listening to the dumbass Beatles and the Doors.

You allowed the government to control you.

Then you guys gave up being adults and just started caring about money in the 80’s and 90’s

Another bomer blaming it on everyone else

“ it was our guberment “

I remember not wanting to go clothing shopping with my parents so I would wait in the car. The horror!

I never wore a bike helmet. I still ride all the time.

i was embarrassed as a teen to be with parents...they wore some tacky clothing and i was mid-80's wearing all black and combat boots...punk rock

I was a poser. tounge I remember when I had an arm full of black rubber bracelets and I wore silver parachute pants with a ton of zippers.

I finally figured out who I was when I started playing in local rock band.

(I just found out that the colors of the bracelets were assigned sex meanings. I wonder when that happened? I never knew about that.)

That's awesome. I like that story. I used to wear about 15 of them at a time. (For no real reason) My town was small so we didn't have too much trouble.

Parody has become reality now. The Onion is going to go out of business.

Comedy is illegal now.
It might cause a gentle feelz to be hurted.
Only Orange Man Bad is allowed at joke time.
