I would have liked another couple decades of good life but I shouldn't be greedy. I feel bad for the young people living now. They got fucked.

Now as I get older, the world is falling into oblivion. It's like the whole world is dying at the same time I will.

I'd like to see Mother Nature do the reset rather than mankind though. Trust the Science? -"Nope."

I trust the Nature. Nobody does a reset like Mother Nature.

The 80's was a weird time, it's hard to believe I consider that "normal" now.

Man it was fun though. People were people then. Creative and outgoing.

I'm so very happy I retired before the scam-demic hit...I feel very lucky as well!

I just went next door to where they are building a house, and the contractor recognized me and complemented my work over the years...He used to bring me his fleet for repairs...He said everyone compliments my work and mentions my name around town...it's nice to be recognized and it's far from the first time, though it has been awhile lol

How old are you OP?

I'm 49, so the decades match, but I would say I didn't really "Live" the 70's, you know...

I absorbed it but didn't live it.

Also, the 80's, by the time I got a car, it was over. 1988 forward sucked as rap and crack replaced rock and weed/Acid. Douchebags with beepers and Z Cavaricci...

The 90's with lumberjack girls out of their minds of superweed too strong for normal people, depressing whiney Grunge...(good movies though)...

The 00's with 911 and realizing how fake and fucked everything is...

The 10's with Obama/Trump cartoon politics

Yuck.

To really have lived the last "Best Days" I think you need to be born...oh...

I was only a young kid in the 70's but the house I grew up in was very old and in a small town. Everything around me was still 60's and 70's stuff even when the 80's started. I used to listen to my mom's 50's and 60's record albums with big Radio Shack headphones on all through the 80's.

My first concert was the Grateful Dead. I met the band when I worked for a hotel DJ and they gave me the tickets themselves. I talked with them for a while and they thought it was funny that I didn't know much about them.

The highlights of my day today:

I had an interesting dream right before I woke up.

I have a leftover cheeseburger for lunch.

There might be some thunderstorms today. That could be fun.

I don't expect any interesting conversations... I'll go home and maybe clean the kitchen.

Yay. The New Normal.

I used to love technology. I enjoyed television. Now I haven't had TV since 2008 because I couldn't find anything to watch anymore. And technology is killing everyone's uniqueness, rational thinking and creativity.

People don't know how to be social without texting it in. They all have to hide behind a screen.

I moved to Knoxville in 1994 out of high school. I played drums and I made lots of friends, joined numerous bands. I never had a problem meeting people and doing fun things.

Now I'm closer to where I grew up and no one does anything fun. I have to make all my own good times and do them by myself.

Same - I am a little older than HD Harry, but pretty much the same experiences.
Although I could see in the 80's and 90's that society was falling apart fast and already I stopped following the "norm".

But sure as anything I'd take the 80's or 90's over the shit show we have going on today. It really is incredible how many people have lost their minds - or never had one to begin with.
The brainwashing is so complete and pervasive I think GLP people are perhaps 3% of the population.

When I was 11 years old my Dad bought a boat and anchored it in Lake Erie. That summer my brother and I lived on the boat the whole summer, 90% of the time by ourselves.
No cell phones, no nothing. It was great. There was a CB radio on the boat and an AM/FM radio. My Dad said that the only thing we had to do was keep the boat clean, wash the outside every day and polish the chrome once a week. Other than that it was fishing and swimming and snorkeling every day.

What a summer.

I remember going to a local bar a few times recently. The younger people all had their phones out. There was nothing fun to do like perhaps a few pool tables and dart boards. Just people eating, drinking and showing other people stuff they found on their phones.

Now at that same bar, you have to wear a mask every time you stand up. It's beyond insane. And still very boring.

I used to camp in the Adirondacks each summer. It was a church camp but it was still tons of fun. I remember going under water and finding clams. I learned how to sail and canoe.

I have a new neighbor now that likes to kayak. We get along great. But he only feels comfortable kayaking with his girlfriend and sometimes her dad. He never leaves his apartment unless with her. It was the same story with all the other guys that lived here. I got along with all of them but they were tethered to their girlfriends.

They have made everyone afraid of everyone else.
