Suddenly, I'm worried about bitcoin and 20k actually holding... if the stock market is about to full on collapse... then crypto might be obliterated way more than I anticipate...

Going to take a few days to think about this before I make a decision. I'm all of a sudden, extremely scared for what is about to happen.

Like honestly, if we repeat the march 2020 stock market crash... bitcoin might drop so incredibly low. Like, unthinkably low.

Anyways, good luck to everyone. Pretty sure this is about to be a very eventful month or two in the world, not just crypto, not just the stock market.
 Quoting: Mr. Cheeze

I concur with every word you say. I never saw 20k as a particularly strong resistance as its only stemming from the old ATH of 2017.
I am also afraid that bitcoin could break through 20k like a hot knife through butter.
And the whales know that many people believe that 20k is a strong resistance, so why not trick the trader into believing it will hold only to let bitcoin dump in a monster move to 15k or even lower.

Pretty sure the Spx(S&P500) is about to crash very badly.

The 2 circles on the left side of the picture are the march 2020 covid crash.

I think the stock market is possibly about to collapse.
 Quoting: Mr. Cheeze

I'll add this NASDAQ chart to the mix as well:

[imgur] [link to imgur.com (secure)]

Can't say anything much about the timing of things, but a 50% loss would put us back to the supports found in Feb,2018, Jan 2019 and March 2020 market events. At worst (and it would be bad) I think we would fall somewhere between 3300 and 2000 into the long term channel and trend lines from the 1980's and 90's.

I saw this article the other day that might be relevant to your thinking:

Aside from the NASDAQ chart above (forgot to log in), I'll also ask for any thoughts in our combined wisdom on how to anticipate how the Fed will attempt to "soak up" all the money they have put into the system:

With Fed's Reverse Repo Hitting Half A Trillion, Wall Street Scrambles To Figure Out What Comes Next

[link to www.zerohedge.com (secure)]

Maybe I'm thinking about this in too simple a manner, but it seems to me that after having created all this "money", the Fed has a problem with having too much. One way to effectively "destroy" the money is to cause losses in the various markets - stocks, crypto etc...

I'm not sure they would want a major drop all at once, but maybe several smaller sequential drops.

Seeing as how this is GLP, I'd also add that it would be mighty convenient for some other external event to take the blame for these drops. :)

The idea of a stock market crash and crypto crash goes with this theory that I thought sounded plausible since I saw it, the dates don't mean anything, perhaps it's looming, who knows?

Sorry about how it displays, guess you have to click through to read it.

Okay guys. If it does end up dumping down, I'm thinking 20k happens during June 20-22. I think I finally matched up the correct downsloping support line to match up with 20k.

So 8-10 days away from now.

As my other accounts grow @20+%, I'll sit out of buying any crypto until the SEC drops it's chains. When that happens, I'll start to invest to earn again.

All of your advise, insight, experience, exposure etal is very much appreciated, Mr. Cheese. I'm serious. Very much appreciated.

Re: XRP-tards, get in here. (Crash imminent? Final XRP moon in august 2021)
So IF the march 2020 crash is about to repeat...

I think bitcoin drops to 20k.
I think bitcoin goes up to 36/37k(dead cat bounce .382 retrace)...

Then...

We could be talking 3,000$ bitcoin a few weeks after 36/37k...

You guys have no idea how bad this is for bitcoin if the s&p drops 50%.

I'm so glad I checked the s&p last night...

This honestly will probably be a false flag covid event if the s&p crashes this bad. The government loves to take advantage of a financial crisis.

Going to take it day by day and see how things happen. Going to pay extreme attention to the s&p the next few months. It will alter my targets for bitcoin and crypto going forward.

Here's an updated look at the BTC Order Book in Coinbase Pro:

https://imgur.com/a/qLRTs5U

Compared to the last look, the basic $20K, 25K, 30K volume remains, but there is increasing volume showing up at the $32K level and below to the $30K line (you can see the fade from yellow to more orange, left to right indicating this).

There also appears to be a bit of a migration of volume from the $21-22K range up to the $26.6-28.2K range as well.

Also of note, the upper $40k band has significantly faded as well.

Not sure if it actually is significant or just an effect of lower weekend volume making it more prominent, but there are clearly visible 4 light bands started simultaneously showing at ~$40K, 44K, 47.8k and $52k. If I had to guess, this would suggest to me that someone is looking to get out rather than a Market Maker of some sort.

9600$ bitcoin would be about the same amount of crash through the weekly 200 ema as the covid crash, so it's a believable drop location.

The BTC Order book on Coinbase isn't showing any substantial new preference for $9600 (yet).

https://imgur.com/a/xdWVaVn

There is some new preference for $3500, $1700 and $1000.

Historically, there has been an immense number of buys down around "zero" or some other unlikely extremely low number.

When I first saw this, it was confusing to me but after watching it for a bit, I think this level can be used as a proxy for people who are "parking" their cash. Could be wrong on this though...

I think 12,000-12,500 is a believable support location looking down below 20k. Maybe not permanently.

Of course, this could also be the moment it crashes violently. It will be a point of massive trader activity, this is all I can tell right now.

You are welcome!

Couldn't say why in every case, but I suspect it is for convenience sake.

Not all exchanges are like this, but one of the reasons I use Coinbase is because it has depositor insurance up to the usual FDIC banking limits.

[link to help.coinbase.com (secure)]

Not sure how it would be handled for non-US customers, but it looks like they are implying the account is insured as well.

Re: XRP-tards, get in here. (Crash imminent? Final XRP moon in august 2021)
On the subject of XRP and the SEC, one of the sources I like to follow is the Youtube "Legal Briefs" channel.

Attorney Jeremy Hogan has recently been doing some short analysis videos (usually with a dash of humor) as an observer of how the Ripple vs. SEC case is unfolding.

In this recent one he discusses the Howey Test and how the XRP case compares to the earlier KIK and Telegram cases the SEC bought against these other companies in the crypto space.

It's a short 12 minute video, probably all worth watching for context, but at around 5:28 he gets into some conjecture on what settlement might look like with Ripple.

Mostly things you would expect (fines, future clarity etc.) but one item that was especially of interest was the idea of only allowing future XRP when released from escrow to be sold to strictly to "accredited investors". If I understand the implication, that would mean that only the XRP that's presently in circulation now would be available for exchange trading, at least initially until these folks were allowed to resell it (6 months or more?). Presumably this limit on availability would have an impact on the price, probably to the upside. He was very clear that this was conjecture on his part, so I'm not getting too excited about it, but it's worth keeping in mind as a possibility too.
