Can you explain why you think there is a shortage? I mean, are you hearing rumors, but can still purchase things, or is there less meat available for some reason?

Also, do you have any specifics as to why, exactly, there is a shortage? There should be more meat available, not less, and the prices should be down slightly, since farmers are trying to make up for lower sales, due to eateries having been closed for so long.

Or is something else happening here?

Ribeye is $18 per pound.

That's rationing by price.

Last week they had whole cryopacked filet mignon for $6.99 per pound.

I saw a meat/dairy farmer over weekend. They are at a loss why shortages/inflation. They told me the price from farm to store is out of control "fat cats lining them pockets".
Many farmers have been calling out a heads up about laws/regulations that have passed in last couple months.

Things will be fine...Bill Gates has all the farmland now so plenty of room for beef to roam

The farmland topsoil is so depleted of topsoil it can only grow gmo crops with the help of fertilizer. It isn't even fertile enough for cow pasture, most of it.

It's part of the plan

I have a friend who is an inspector at meat processing plants. My friend says there is a labor supply shortage currently affecting processing plants. Some plants are resorting to hiring temps, while others are shutting down. My freezer is mostly full, but I’m going to try to keep it that way while I can afford to.

All clear and good here in the Florida man land. Must just be your resources.

NONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS HAS EVER COMPLAINED BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT THEY ARE GETTING A SUPERIOR PRODUCT, SUPPORTING A LOCAL FAMILY, HELPING KEEP A VIABLE FARM IN OPERATION IN THEIR COMMUNITY WITH ALL THE PERKS THAT COME FROM IT.

I WISH THAT I COULD CONVINCE MORE PEOPLE TO STRIKE UP A RELATIONSHIP WITH A FARMER DIRECTLY. MOST OF THEM WOULD LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CUT OUT THE MIDDLE MAN AND HAVE YOU GET THE PRODUCT FROM THEM PERSONALLY. ALL IT TAKES IS A VISIT AND EVEN IF YOU LIVE IN THE CITY YOU COULD GO IN WITH A GROUP OF FRIENDS OR NEIGHBORS AND SPLIT UP A LARGER BUY WHEN YOU GET HOME.
