Yes, it is quite poetic the ending but sad, and I agree with you about Nicolas Cage it wasn’t his top film that’s for sure and I actually really liked face off, the first time I saw it, something different at that time.

Thank you to shared dear heart, to start this thread off, I posted Man in the mirror because it is a song that I heard once as a child and has stuck to me to this very moment. There is so many songs that I like but second to that song, is this song, it help me in my life, to remember that I am never alone.

A quick explanation is that I spent most of my life in the foster care system as a child and I was split up from my sisters. I am the oldest child out of all my siblings and I always felt I had a responsibility to them. I heard this song one night, right in the moment that I really did feel alone and I wanted to give up because I thought I wasn’t strong enough to keep going. It’s amazing how sometimes the words of a song can remind you of your strength, especially when you need it.

I for some reason associate this movie with a trip to spain when i was very young, it was the 90's.

Anyway, i remember on that trip i did a karaoke of this song:




A terrible rendition, of a terrible song, byt terrible 'artists', i didn't choose the song, another boy did and it was a duet.

It peaked at number 3 in the UK in 1997.

I would guess if you're going to karaoke a song, you'd be somewhat familiar with the lyrics before hand, even though you're going to be assisted by the screen, i wasn't, I'd heard it on the radio, but no, hell no was not into it.

Anyway, looking back i realize as with this music, in my younger years i never really bonded with much pop music of the time, not much music at all.

That was a passion left to my teenage years, when i discovered the band Linkin Park, it was as if everything i was going through was being told to me through music.

This song peaked at number 8 in the UK in 2001. It's from the first music album i ever purchased.



That music kept me alive and allowed me to branch out. Now i have an appreciation for pretty much all music, but i owe it to Chester and Linkin Park.

Got this song stuck in my head for some reason, one of their better songs i guess...


I think ti reached number 1 in the uk or us for 1 week in 1999, not sure...

This song was Number one hit in 2019 with Kygo, on its own I’m for sure it’s been a number one hit ….. May we all be brought to higher love.
