actually he's adopted. 22 years old, will be institutionalized the rest of his life.

The way to get pushed to the front of the line here in Texas for disabled services, is to have her disabled son admitted to the psych hospital for 30 days here in Texas.

Which would be easier if you moved here or stay in an extended state of moving to Texas. You basically have to claim you are homeless or your son is having psychological issues. After that he will be eligible for Home Health Care Service HHCS or Texas Home Living THL. CLASS is covered for those under who get in under 18 years old and usually they have been on one of the other two services first.

We have pretty good groups homes around here. You have to be pretty profoundly disabled to be in an institution setting her. But, even the institution I have visited didn't appear bad. Only two clients to a room and their space was usually personalized. If they are severely disabled they are fairly easy to keep too since a lot of them are wheelchair bond.

The intellectually disabled with severe behavior problems are kept away from the severely vegetative disabled. I don't know what your sons wife situation is, but I am sure there is a way to get him into the right setting.

California cannot prevent your wife's son from moving if she is guardian. You can try to transfer services, but just about every state has it's onw system and a way they fund it.

Guardianship, if she does not already have it. Most do not, they made decisions for their child all along the way

and don't realize that when the child reaches majority, they do not have NEARLY as much say.

Guardianship costs legal fees but is usually granted without question.
