I'm depressed because my mom died a couple of months ago, and I miss her so much. I've also had four of my animals die since November, two of them within the past week (on different days, of unrelated causes).

I'm also trying to buy a piece of property so I can get a new start, but there was a boundary issue with it that had to be straightened out with the county, and god damn, bureaucracy moves slow. The paperwork finally made it through every department and has been signed off on; the amendment to the plat map just has to be recorded, but it's been two more weeks of waiting and I have no idea when it will finally happen so we can close the sale and I can take possession of the place and get to work. It's taken five months just to get this far, and I just want it done.

The Covid/political/election/Great Rest/collapse shit has been bad, but not depressing--they pose problems to be solved, or at least worked around, and there's something strangely invigorating about that. But the personal stuff has really got me down, and it's hard for me to find the energy to do anything productive, these days.

This funk I'm in will pass--I have total faith it will--but for now I'm just muddling along. At least spring's here and the weather's warming up.

Actually, studies and surveys through the years have found that liberals actally are the ones who are less happy. They're less happy even when another libtard is in the White House.

Conservatives tend to be happy regardless.
