So, My COMPUTER Starts Going CRAZY..Crashing every few Minutes & Nothing Fixed it UNTIL

This actually happened this week. My computer starts crashing every few minutes. Of course I start trying to investigate as to why. Software systems all check out so I start looking at hardware. Keep in mind the computer is shutting down and restarting every few minutes.

As a last resort I decide to wipe everything and do a clean install of Windows. When I boot up it my computer says, SURPRISE, there was an error and no changes were made....

then, I see it....although at the moment I wasn't sure this was the culprit.

ANTS!!!!! My printer AND computer surge protector had been INVADED by literally thousands of ants and I mean there were thousands of them.

Of course I start trying to get them out of everything (Not an easy task) but to make a long story short after my thinking I was going to have to go buy a new computer mine now seems to be running fine again. Time will tell if there was lasting damage but since they were just in the surge protector and not the computer I should be ok. Apparently they were shorting everything out every few minutes as they were dying from what was basically an electric chair for ants!

I say all of this just so any of you, especially anyone in the Southwest or East (Texas here) these are a relatively new ant to the US having began invading in 2002.

They are called TAWNY or CRAZY ants

and they LOVE electronics. I had never heard of or had any experience with the little buggers but beware, if any of your electronics start going nuts you might want to look for them before anything else!
