Next up, Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico has voted against becoming a state every time is has come to a vote. I don't think it will happen.
Quoting: Boiling Frog you sure? They are broke as fuck now. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79203623 They have always been broke as fuck. The politicians and police are more corrupt than ours, think libiot democrat but worse. PR has another problem that people generally don't know about, that is illegal immigrants from The Dominican Republic. All of the PR people I know left there and came here because the crime is rampant and over 2/3s of the country is on welfare. In fact, their cost of welfare each year is MORE than their GDP. Previous referendums Main article: List of Puerto Rican status referendums Puerto Rico has had five previous referendums on its status.[8] A vote in 1967 rejected statehood.[9] The next three referendums produced no clear majorities.[4] The non-binding 2017 referendum was in favor of statehood, but had only a 23% turnout.[3]
