Law of Unintended Consequences: Chauvin Verdict Reduces Likelihood of Police Reform
According to both Democratic and Republican politicos, the guilty verdict greatly reduces the chances that any meaningful police reform will take place any time in the future. Police reform, quote, "seems unlikely to rush in the systemic overhauls George Floyd’s family and civil rights and progressive leaders seek."

The sad thing is that Chauvin was doing what he had been trained to do.

the authorities completely scape-goated him.

The main focus should be on the people who decided to train the police to treat Minnesotans like they were Arab terror suspects in Israel.

Speaking of which... where was Ilhan Omar during this whole dog and pony show? Isn't that her freakin' congressional district? I'm surprised she didn't want a share of the limelight

I'm not sure any kind of camera systems will ever go away... unless there's an EMP

Ill argue the opposite. police reform is happening instantly. i bet the cops will just get the perp beet and cuffed and will lay off the extended neck holds. also mass quitings to avoid doing a job that can land you in jail forever.

Perhaps you are right on a micro level.

This article -- and the sentiment among politicians -- was referring to the legislative momentum of police reform.

You could be right, though

You're right Wharf Rat all the actions by TPTB are designed to give the illusion that people have a choice or a say in the things that are important to them in life, and all this Fentanyl Floyd theatre IMO is nothing more than that, more illusion!
