They will start a new ponzi scheme. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58925551 Janet Yellin has been talking about the dangers of an unregulated crypto market. I believe FB is helping with the government narrative on currency. If the government wants a digital US $, and it does, printing money and a burgeoning crypto environment will serve their purpose. They are devaluing physical currency and will have a bigger window into every aspect of life with digital. then when unregulated crypto crashes spectacularly in some engineered event--the Fed Reserve will step in with their own crypto--promising to keep it safe then when everyone converts to Fed crypto--they introduce negative interest--Spend it or Lose it Agreed. We could also see a fire sale on old US$ and debt held by foreign countries. I'm looking for ideas on physical assets (beyond coinage) for diversification and preservation of what little I have saved. Any ideas? SAM |

I know the crypto market is ripe for being taken over by regulations at some point. But for right this moment and a little bit into the future it is a great vehicle to make a dollar out of .15 cents and then use profits to buy the things that do matter. Well, I spent some proceeds on land, on top of the line preps like a Solar powered backed generator system for my home, and other things. It really depends on what you feel is best for you to weather the collapse a d believe me, it will come crashing down. The current bitcoin system can only handle about 150 million transactions a second but the USD handles billions. China tried it and crashed after 5 seconds. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80206139 I'm going to sound like a lout, but I'm really pissed off. Fuck their stable coin, fuck FB, fuck bitcoin and fuck china. I hope they all fall. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80206139 Not even close. Bitcoin can handle 7 transactions per second. The fastest blockchains like Elrond, Algorand, and other shared networks can handle tens of thousands of transactions per second. |

Having land and preps puts you in a much better position, but if the d collapses then everyone is screwed. Civil unrest to say the least, run out of ammo, which will also cost way too much. People won't be able to pay their property taxes because it will look like a pinball score. |
