I couldn't believe it when the defense tried to claim he died of carbon monoxide from the cars exhaust

If he doesn't get it for the taxes, he could get it for having two drivers licenses or illegal voting. Likely he won't, but it must be a stressful way to live.

Derek Chauvin Accused of Fraudulently Voting in Florida Despite Living in Minnesota
BY DANIEL VILLARREAL ON 6/5/20 AT 6:04 PM EDT

Chauvin has property in Florida and allegedly continued to vote in state elections while living in Minnesota.

It's unclear what documents Chauvin used to register to vote in Florida, but state officials confirm he has a valid Florida driver's license.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56009947

As far as we can tell from the evidence we were given, Chauvin did not kill George Floyd. Saint George fucking Floyd, whom I don't give 2 shits about, killed HIMSELF with his drugs and his health problems. FUCK HIM.

As for Chauvin, you might be right, he looks like a very unsavory character and he should not be a cop based on his prior history, but bottom line....he didn't kill Floyd, but they're gonna persecute his ass anyway because....Saint George Fucking Floyd.
 Quoting: PresidentElect BlueStateRebel

I am absolutely convinced he murdered him with premeditation to shut him up.

I think these tax charges are related.

There are no such things as coincidences in murder cases.

If the suspected perp had a strong motive, he did it. Id Chauvin the suspected perp?

Did he have a powerful motive?

Well, we dont know, because that possibility was never explored, FOR SOME REASON.

idol1

It always works out that way and any detective will tell you when a person is murdered and you dont know who the perp is, you look for someone who had a powerful motive to kill him and you will probbaly have your perp.

In this case Chauvin would have been facing more time than he is now if I am right.

THAT is a motive.

So.... how are there no threads about this on GLP? Seems like he might be going to jail for ten years regardless of the George "I ate too many Drugs" Floyd trial.

Less than 50%:

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis Police officer charged with second degree murder in the killing of George Floyd, has been charged with nine felony counts of aiding and abetting tax fraud in Washington County, Minn.

The charges accuse Chauvin and his wife of claiming Florida residency to avoid paying Minnesota taxes, resulting in six charges for filing false or fraudulent returns and three counts for failing to file tax returns. Each charges carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Wonder how much time the wife spends each year in Florida?

The Minnesota house could be a second home if she spends a good bit of time in Florida.

Have no idea what those limits are, and I am too tired to look it up today.
 Quoting: Lady Jayne Smith

If he's physically in MN working as a police officer, he's fucked. There are some circumstances where you can dodge state income taxes, but physically working in the state in his capacity is not one of them.

I actually work online, and I am moving to TX, but the company I work for is situated in CA and I'm also getting licensed in the state, so I'll still have to pay state income taxes.

It pisses me off, but they can enforce against me through their long-arm statute.

Sad, but the only way I could avoid paying the state's punitive income taxes is to give up my licenses, quit working for my favorite job, and sever all economic ties.

It might come to that, but for now, I'll continue to pay. It's not like they haven't provided significant services to my family for the past decade. If they push it too far though I'm out. There's a limit and they're at it.

This is interesting.

I doubt that, simply because it's so easy to catch someone if they're on a police payroll but not paying state taxes. If that's illegal, it's like begging to be caught.

So I am guessing it's not illegal. Unless he's really stupid and clueless, which he doesn't seem to be.

They both worked security at a local nightclub. Some accounts say they must have known each other... others say not necessarily, because one worked inside and the other worked outside, different shifts/responsibilities.

It's conceivable they did know each other. I think I even read somewhere they had a previous altercation... but who really knows?

Either way, it was ruled not admissible in court, FWIW.

Patriot and white supremacist dont mean the same thing. Some Indians are patriots, and so are some blacks. Some whites call themselves that and are no such thing, since they don't believe in the precept that all men are equal before the law, which is a fundamental aspect of american beliefs.

All of these killings always end up doing the same thing, and it is no coincidence it is ALWAYS the Trump supporters who call themselves patriots defending the killers every single time.

Face it, you think the only good black man is a dead man.

Re: Derek Chauvin Charged with Nine Counts of Felony Tax Fraud
Biden's comment was a signal to put the power of the federal government behind pleasing the rioting mob and punishing this guy. It agrees with Maxine Waters. They're going all-in at the federal level.

The country is going down the drain.

Even if they convict Chauvin in this sham trial, he will get off on appeal. I am convinced of that. There's too much evidence of problems in the trial itself and certainly in the prejudice of the 27 million award before the trial and the behavior of people like Waters and Biden during jury deliberations.
