Is that confirmed? BTW you did a great job BBQ Boy on posting these daily

Court TV has a Verdict watch clock on their site.

6 hours 35 minutes now

Got it, counting up meaning that's how long they have been in deliberation not a countdown to verdict. I got confused initially, it happens

They shot at the National Guard yesterday,
and, The Joint Chiefs are still sitting on their hands in the Pentagon.

.
 Quoting: Henry Clemons

Do we know who called out the NG who are deployed there? Typically, it's a governor in these cases, so it might not be any of the JCOS's business at this point, not that they would do anything even if it is.
 Quoting: Revbo™

They are part of The United States Military.

But i'm sure they are happy to wash their hands of it.

 Quoting: Henry Clemons

Right, but when they are called up by a governor, unless nationalized by the president, they answer to the governor and his adjutant general. In Minnesota, that guy is Brig. Gen. Shawn Manke.

If the cops had treated the phony $20 like the white collar crime it was and not pulled guns on Floyd as if they were apprehending a murderer,

A death would have been prevented and Chauvin would not be on trial and facing prison.
 Quoting: 936432979

This is a very good point. In both this case and the 2019 arrest, the officers pulled their guns for no good reason.

Well no legal reason in my opinion. If I go knock on some guy's window to tell him he has a flat tire and his hands are briefly not visible I can't stick a gun in his face, I would go to jail.

I understand this is a shit neighborhood but in neither case were the police responding to a violent crime. Actually in the 2019 case I'm not even sure if there was a crime.

Having a cop pull a gun on you isn't fun, and they're a bit too willy nilly about it. I was working in Boston one time and couldn't find anywhere to take a piss, so I ended up using an empty bottle as nobody was around and I was in a tall truck where you couldn't really see in.

Cop came across the street to tell me I couldn't park there and when he saw me reaching down fumbling with something he drew on me... almost got shot over a parking issue.

Just goes to show they don't only do that to black people.

Not to blame victim, but just to point out decision points where we never would've heard of this incident

- if buddy Morrise and GF dee dee after being rebuffed trying to pass phony $20 at Kup Foods initially
- if GF dee dees from scene after at least 3 points of opportunity having passed likely same counterfeit $20 (right away, first employee approach to car, 2nd employee approach to car) for items at Kup Foods
- if GF hadn't tossed pills into mouth before removal from his own car by 2 Officers initially on scene
- if GF had of gotten into squad willingly

Damn shame all these off ramps missed before Officer Chauvin did what he did.
 Quoting: Big Duke6

If the store clerk who thought Floyd’s $20.00 looked phony, had refused to accept it, like he did with Morries Hall’s $20.00.

If Morries Hall or Floyd had given a good $20.00 to the store clerks when they went out to the car and demanded it.

If Floyd, who had offered the girl a ride home while in the store, and she wanted to go home, had started driving away after leaving the store instead of all three gabbing for 5 minutes and then Floyd falls asleep in the car while the girl takes a phone call, leaving them still there when police arrive.

If the cops had treated the phony $20 like the white collar crime it was and not pulled guns on Floyd as if they were apprehending a murderer,

A death would have been prevented and Chauvin would not be on trial and facing prison.

I think 6 hours is how long they have deliberated so far.
From what I heard last night, once the jury has a verdict, they will announce it the next day to allow the city to prepare.

They have to allow the rest of BLM to mobilize to MN from the rest of the country. I'd be curious to see how much traffic is coming in from the interstates in the hours prior to a verdict being read.

Cops do sometimes pull a gun too quickly. Then again cops have to deal with career criminals like George Floyd.

In your case there was less reason to pull a gun. In Floyd’s he was known to have committed a crime and been highly intoxicated. It was also a bad neighborhood. When approached Floyd didn’t comply and show his hands in a car where a person could have a access to a gun.

 Quoting: 936432979

The policy for the grocery store is any cashier that accepts a fake bill will "supposedly" have to pay for it themselves-- hence why the police were called. Let it also be known the initial dispatch to police was not just for a counterfit $20, but also 'appearance of being under the influence". That was highlighted yesterday in closing arguments. If the cashier pointed this out on 911 call-- then that only tells you how much under the influence he was when he walked into the store. The problem didnt start with the $20 bill-- the problem started with drug use or maybe none of this would have happened. "this is your brain.. this is your brain on drugs" The picture of Floyd in a suit followed by the video of him dying should actually be the new "say no to drugs" campaign, but instead this was contorted into some kind of racist action as an excuse for the outcome.
 Quoting: MaximusRex

Don’t remember testimony about under the influence being included in call to police. The judge did remind the jury that assertions made during closing arguments are not to be considered evidence.

The store clerk testified he initially planned to just replace the bill if it really was phony, then changed his mind and reported it to the store manager, who insisted they try to get Floyd to make it good, and when that didn’t work, called the police. The store manager did not accept or want the clerk to replace the phony $20 with his own money.
And after this testimony the store issued a statement that employees are NOT required to pay back phony bills if they accept them. So maybe it was an unofficial policy or threat, to motivate employees to be more vigilant of counterfeit bills.

Sorry, but that jury room is going to be brutal.

Probably with one, maybe two that have enough integrity to see reasonable doubt enough to acquit.

Some of them want to just go home in peace and saftey so, what ever the majority wants, that is where their vote will be.

A few, are just biased from the get go as to the guilt of the defendant and no facts can change that. (Some for some against.)

The rest just frigging scared for their lives and their families.

Anyone holding out for real justice in this jury pool will be pressured beyond belief to bring about the justice that the mob demands.

jurors will come to conclusions that they will nto be able to come together on a single decision but decide to sleep on it and rediscuss in morning - then by 10 they will decide its hung

I am myself hoping for acquittal - period

I think people who end up on a high profile jury like this fall into 1 of 3 categories:

1. Too stupid to get out of jury duty

2. Biased by strong personal beliefs and feel need to effect outcome of trial

3. Seeking payout from media for story when trial is over

I don't understand why people so frightened would even be on the jury. It's pretty easy to answer initial questions in a way to get yourself struck/dismissed as a potential juror- just present yourself as prejudiced in some way- against cops, already knowing things about Floyd's criminal background that has prejudiced you in that way, that it is against you beliefs to judge your fellow man in any way, etc.

A non-sequestered jury with this kind of exposure and media bias, blasted 24/7 on their phones, fb accounts and tv.

Yep, the judge instructed them not to look, when has that stopped anyone from peeking?

Re: Derek Chauvin Trial - VERDICT IS IN - Guilty On All Three Counts
Sorry, but that jury room is going to be brutal.

Probably with one, maybe two that have enough integrity to see reasonable doubt enough to acquit.

Some of them want to just go home in peace and saftey so, what ever the majority wants, that is where their vote will be.

A few, are just biased from the get go as to the guilt of the defendant and no facts can change that. (Some for some against.)

The rest just frigging scared for their lives and their families.

I watched the Jury selection. Also, whole trial.

Based on answers some potential jurists gave. I'm convinced a few went in with possible lucrative book deals in mind. Or hefty interview fees from MSM.

Re: Derek Chauvin Trial - VERDICT IS IN - Guilty On All Three Counts
I wasn’t aware of an incident from 2017 where Chauvin apparently used a similar restraint (knee in the back) against a fourteen year old for seventeen minutes. That is a really long time!

What I find interesting is that the kid survived. So, doesn’t that suggest the technique isn’t deadly? If the Minneapolis police knew about this use of force, and didn’t discipline or fire Chauvin, that would suggest it was an approved technique, despite what they say now.

I do have a concern about how police sometimes subdue a person. If you put a knee on someone’s back it is natural to squirm around because it is uncomfortable. The same is true for other uses of force. It seems to me police will sometimes interpret natural body reactions to restraint as resisting.
