Only big tobacco companies can row tobacco in a couple of states. NC and VA I think. Why is this place so full of blithering idiots?! Of course you can grow all the tobacco you want for yourself! You just can't sell it without license and taxation. How do you idiots even get through the day without hurting yourselves? Please go get your vaxx and get sterilized. This is a boon to both the big tobacco industry and to the cancer industry. Quoting: BoatyMcBoatface The government makes the most money on cigarettes through taxes. So it will benefit the government the most. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80261949 United States 04/20/2021 12:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.wsj.com (secure)] Quoting: BoatyMcBoatface The Biden administration is considering requiring tobacco companies to lower the nicotine in all cigarettes sold in the U.S. to levels at which they are no longer addictive, according to people familiar with the matter. Administration officials are considering the policy as they approach a deadline for declaring the administration’s intentions on another tobacco question: whether or not to ban menthol cigarettes. The Food and Drug Administration must respond in court by April 29 to a citizens’ petition to ban menthols by disclosing whether the agency intends to pursue such a policy. The Biden administration is weighing whether to move forward on a menthol ban or a nicotine reduction in all cigarettes—or both, the people familiar with the matter said. The White House and the FDA didn’t immediately comment Monday. Let him do it, there is a whole elite class of tobacco companies ceos that will suffer because of it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78488264 I vaped to get off the tobacco for 2 years and then quit the vaping since it's much easier to stop that way. About 4 years now zero nicotine. I went the other route. I smoked 1 pack of Marlboro per day for 5 years, then switched to Winston's at 2 packs a day for 15 more years and then I switched to snuff. I've been dipping for 21 years now and I feel GREAT! When I started tobacco 41 years ago a pack of Marlboros ran about 75 cents. Never once craved a cigarette! Might be because each can of snuff contains about a carton of cigarette's amount of nicotine. |

People roam around scrounging for butts even after rain. I picked up one that had 3/4 of the thing left and it lasted me 4 days |

I quit over a decade ago. The motivating factor was that most of the money paid was taxes. I never discourage anyone from smoking, if they don’t pay these taxes, someone else will have to pay. |
