Reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode where the rich dying father made his three grown children wear a mask and when they took them off their faces took on the characteristics of who they really were inside.

Yes, I think that's part of it! (The other part is the choices you make: smoking, drinking, excessive tanning, not eating healthy or drinking enough water, stress, etc.)

But yes, I'm sure one's inner thoughts have something to do with it. I hadn't considered that before, so thank you for your post, AC

Hey beeches! Yes, I really like Charles Bukowski. He was a hard-living, hard-writing human being who had a great way with words. He could describe ugliness in a way that made it beautiful, if that makes sense.

I suppose his style of work (and subject matter) is not everyone's cup of tea, but I find it inspiring and his poems have brought much joy into my life.
