How would a Carrigton Event look on SWMF-RCM live plot computer model
We watch the sun activity and the magnetosphere reaction here. Today it looks very symmetrical

Schumann Resonance today is peaking up again

I found this NASA article from last year about the Carrigton effect and what could happen today

But the interesting piece is a video from 2014 which shows how the Carrigton effect would look like in the magnetosphere live plot (it may have been posted here but i hadnt seen it before, and its interesting to know what to expect, to see on the plot before it all goes down)

The elephant in the room is scale, what if, every so often, the Sun goes a little farther than a Carrington type even and instead it pulls a "Knowing" style micro nova which pushes the world back into the stone age... strong evidence that it has happened in the past and if their time lines are correct we're due for another one in 20 yrs or so... fascinating stuff if you can discount the terror of an ELE and we havnt even mentioned meteors...
