Thank heavens my children are grown. They went to a very good, the best actually, school in our town and when I went to the parent teacher night their history teacher was talking about her plans for the course and what they had covered so far. This was American history and all she talked about was Native Americans and what was done to them and slavery. This was in the 1990s. I raised my hand and said So when are you getting to the constitution and the Bill of Rights? Are you just skipping that? Several of the parents laughed, but I was serious. We thankfully don't have to worry about that now, they are in their 30s but it was starting to get ridiculous already then. I was so relieved when they were done with high school. I stayed up their asses every day about what they were being told. Luckily we moved to a more conservative town when they were in HS so there was less of that b.s. they got in the university district.
