Interracial Couples on TV Commercials and in Reality

good looking dark shinned women are very few and far between. they are out there. had one for a minute.

Same in the UK. Every advert contains black male with pretty white female.

Even the 6pm news has a segment everynight about a black topic, whther it's an "inspiring" rapper or some other shite.
As if the working white person wants to come home from work, watch the news, and wants to know about a black rapper...

These people are out of their minds.

Or "indigenous" who are in reality mostly mixed race themselves. Getting so you have to have a DNA test to get a job. How racist is that?

The state propaganda network has had a Being Black In Canada masthead up since February.

I remember the days when CBC was internationally respected for its news coverage but now it's just a crap mishmash of leftist identity politics that disables any comment (when they are even allowed) that challenges its bullshit agenda with research and facts.

In my area, Northwest Indiana, there has always been mixed couples. This is the normal here. This area, with the steel mills and other industry, has always been a melting pot of European, and every other part of the world you can thing of.
As far as my ethnic goes, I am Native American, Asian, and a mix of European with a splash of middle eastern and JWish thrown in.My kids biological dad was Polish, Croatian, and German JWish.
My family has Latino, Black,and just about everything else thrown in.We are every shade of the rainbow, everything from pale skin, blue eyes, blond hair, to medium skin, dark hair and dark eyes.

What we are seeing is a statistical phenomena:

If blacks are 13% of our population, you might expect to see 13% of the commercial characters be black, but when 100% of the companies are forced to be diverse, then 100% of the commercials display interracial characters.

This let's the company proclaim: "We're committed to the 'value' of diversity, as our commercials show". If any legal move is made against the company due to any racism charge, this will be a defense to it.

I just saw a RedBox ad on my T-mobile app, depicting a four person “family” on the couch, except...

There were two white, bearded gay dads, with two ~5 year old black kids, a boy and a girl. All cuddled up. And the boy was staring right at the camera emotionless with huge panda eyes; you could see the whites all around his eyes, like Adam Schiff style.

You can’t make this stuff up...

Disgusting. If anyone still used RedBox, I would have to boycott.

Yup, that's it, right there.

She was smart with a steady, professional job.

He was dumb and went from one minimum wage job to another, spending money like it grows on trees.

Oh, he shot her in the stomach.

The don't know how long she stayed alive, but they know she didn't die right away.

I get how blacks might not like seeing only white people on TV, but these commercials are getting ridiculous.

I DVR everything now, so I don't have to see commercial after commercial after commercial of only black people or inter-racial couples. And the ones that do include white people - often are painting the whites as the goofy or ignorant part in the commercial.

This is spot on. I wondered the same thing. Why the big push for this when it doesn’t reflect what is actually going on in the majority of our reality? I noticed this in commercials and TV shows when they started to depict the white male head of house hold as weak and dumb and the woman as the smart and strong one. Very interesting indeed. Not saying there aren’t dumb white guys out there (there certainly is) but it’s rather obvious that they are steering perceptions with their programming. Unfortunately, to many folks , perception is reality.

You think the commercials are bad? Check out the programs. They have always used TV programs to influence and brainwash how society is constructed.

I'm a huge people watcher and live in the largest city (metro) in my state. I have noticed that interracial couples are a lot rarer here than when I lived on the Gulf Coast (now in midwest I guess) and whereas down south the mix of races were extremely varied and diverse it is different here. Here the mix is almost exclusively dark black male/ white female. It is extremely rare to see any other mixed race couples here.

When I moved here I found it really odd but have grown used to it.

But if youre normal you'll choose have one specific self identifier you believe yourself to be to be included into some wider identifier.
Its human nature to distill yourself to one thing when such a construct is beneficial to ones identity preservation.

That's true. If people want to date/marry someone of a different race, that's fine. I see nothing wrong with it. But to see this in the majority of commercials/ads lately is a little much. It's not the norm. Why are they promoting it?

Well, that is not the case in most of the Midwest. You are quite near Chicago, probably Gary. Who wants to live in a highly mixed community? Maybe you and that is fine.

However, count me out. Homogenous communities (racial, religion, language, country of origin) are safer than mixed and economically more stable.
