Interracial Couples on TV Commercials and in Reality

Same goes for gay couples. I look around my life and I see 2 sets of gay couples (1 married 1 living together), I know dozens of married couples and even more living together hetero couples.
Yes when I watch a TV series on Netflix or UK TV I see a gay couple every time. How can that be?
But then again did we think the TV was going to offer anything other than social programming?
In fairness TV has never really resembled real life, just more aesthetically pleasing versions of human kind and life to keep us hooked and feeling that 'everything is awesome' :-))

My family is still all white but I do see a few interracial couples when I go out. However its nothing like what you see on TV and commercials where every couple is mixed. The media lives in a alternate reality.
