I'm in the second, sane camp. For one reason I realize if we allow then to do it to anyone, they can do it to me, or mine. The irony of this is, it is these SAME PEOPLE who are the ones that will say if that same cop tries to enforce a mask law, come to their house to take their guns after they threaten a neighbor, shoots a dog, or protects the capitol from terrorists, it's alright to bash his brains out. The first thing I did was watch the bodycam video in slow motion and it was nearly impossible to tell even within a fraction of a second that his hands were ever empty due to the way they were at waist level as he turned around. I watched the video many times and it was not clear that he no longer was holding a weapon. The cop was using a flashlight designed to strobe, which I think added to his own confusion. Technically it's felony murder, since the cop never really had the right to use deadly force. Just having a gun or having had a gun is not enough, If it was they could shoot any person carrying a gun and get a pass. The important thing to consider is the kid obeyed the commands and was shot anyway, The next one probably wont make that same mistake and might shoot to save his own life. you were not there , you dont know where the gun went from behind back to hands up fully. Sweet old lady says get the fuck off my sail boat and she is in the salon below deck cant see hands she starts to raise arms and she raises a pitcher of tea and says oh coastie are ya thirsty, another vid she raises a shot gun and blows you away, split second as hand raises over hatch to see if gun or tea. I get that I am looking at it in hindsight, the officer had seconds, but if they are going to shoot you anyways, should you try and shoot them first? I feel for this officer. But I also feel for the next officer where the suspect won't comply because it doesn't seem to matter. When you choose to stand up for truth it will make most people uneasy, because it contradicts their own wisdom and mindset, and most people do not like it when this happens. Truth will rock the boat, it will force changes, it will purge everything that is not rooted in [and founded on] truth, but it is always for good. Regardless of the opposition and short term setback that truth may suffer, and whether or not it can find someone who is willing to stand up for it, truth will ultimately win. |
