Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1397910 Having said that, there are a disturbingly large number of people willing to make fun of this 13-year-old boy ("Lil Homicide") as though somehow he's entirely to blame for his actions as a fucking 13-year-old. Obviously he's been sucked into the criminal underworld from a young age, and it's just all around sad to see this happen. But of course, that doesn't stop the same people here who are purportedly skeptical of government tyranny from celebrating a 13-year-old getting shot to death after being run down by the police. Sort of disgusting, and shows the extent to which you'll all go in dehumanizing your perceived "enemies." Like good little lemmings marching to the beat of your propaganda. I blame the mother and lack of a father. |

You don't know how gangs operate. In addition to running a gambling racket, drug racket, and an arms racket, they also run a protection racket. That's how kids get recruited by gangs in the first place, so they don't get their ass kicked repeatedly by those same gangs. Trying to assign all the blame for his actions makes more sense as an 18 or maybe even 16 year old, but this is too young. He's a kid still and there's no reason to think he has any 360 degree view of why he's doing what he's doing. The lack of even the slightest amount of compassion is disgusting, and yes, even victims can go on to victimize other people. Especially victims. |

And, as a teenager, my friends had guns, including things like sawed off shotguns and old revolvers or anything else we thought was 'cool'. We'd go out and shoot them. We thought we were bad ass. And some of those friends of mine, had the same sort of mentality of these kids on the streets, that they needed guns to protect themselves, or even use in petty crimes, drugs and theft, etc. Or against the 'pigs'. In the 70s, even out in the boonies, we never considered cops to be our friends. They busted up our keggers and harassed us for just driving around, and all that sort of petty teen age BS that we did. I suspect my friends would have done exactly the same thing, should someone have called the cops on us some time when we were out shooting that sawed off in the gravel pit. We've had run, and someone would have thrown the shotgun in the brush, to try to escape charges. None of us would have deserved to die for it. |

In the case of CBS News coverage of the police shooting of 13-year-old Adam Toledo, the dishonesty on their part is striking. Quoting: Coastie Patriot They intentionally edited out the part of the video that shows a gun in Toledo’s hand just prior to being shot. Well shooting at a gravel pit doesn't seem to equate to shooting at passing cars with human passengers. Look it's a tragedy this young man died. But he made terrible choices that led to a terrible outcome. At the end of the day, we all have free will. Rich or poor. Regardless of ethnicity. If he was being bullied by a gang, there were other choices he could have made to seek protection. Not every poor person resorts to gangs to seek remedy to their problems. There are ways to rise above it. |
