How much you want to bet the wall is not continued but still owned & used by the government? Only instead of the wall, there’ll be the construction of more “processing centers” for the illegals.

Not sure what you mean by that, but are you aware there are 50 LEGAL border crossings from Mexico into the USA? Thousands/millions of people come and go every single day....driving vehicles or walking.

Mexican kids go to school in the USA and walk/drive back to their homes in Mexico. There are paved roads and sidewalks at these crossings.. ID is needed to cross back and forth.

Eminent Domain means government only pays market value for the land. Myself, being an appraiser, all sorts of shit can happen in an appraisal. The key is Highest and Best Use of the Land. There are four tests an appraiser must determine in a H&B use analysis. An appraiser must determine what is physically possible (ie is the intended use even possible given the geophysical properties of the land), legally permissible (ie zoning -- is a 20 foot wall allowed per zoning), financially feasible -- (well anything the government does is -- they spend money like it don't matter), and maximally productive. This last test maximally productive means is the wall financially beneficial to the owner-- in this case the USA. I think it can easily be argued how many millions, or billions it may SAVE (not earn) to the legal owner.

Having said that and being in the field 30+ years, different appraisers most likely will vary by an extreme margin. The government needs therefore to make a very specific "scope of work" assignment, laying out the conditions involved in the assignment. From a comparable sales standpoint, I'm sure the Trump administration purchased several linear miles (and acreage) along the border. Of course the most useful "unit of comparison" would be the price per linear foot of wall area. Hopefully that data will be made to several appraisers the government will likely retain to come up with a "market value" to compensate for the taking.
