I would say the State has been in touch with the Feds on how to proceed in the event of a Hung jury / mistrial.

Yeah, that one witness said he had already testified with the Feds didn't he?

Day 10 ~ Dr. Baker (medical examiner)

Don't know if other's caught this but this examiner just said that in Feb 2021 he gave testimony to a Federal grand jury! What's up with that?

Three possibilities exist in the event of a hung jury...the State can retry the case, the State can dismiss charges, or the State can try a plea bargain.

Double jepardy doesn't come into play because any type of mistrial is considered that the first trial never happened at all.
 Quoting: ITSARICHMANSGAME

If I were Chauvin, I would refuse a plea, unless it was a misdemeanor.

Finding another jury will require sending summons to cloistered monks and nuns.

Re: Derek Chauvin Trial - Day 14 - LiveStream
If Chauvin gets convicted he’ll appeal and the case should be retried. There is no way this should have been tried in Minneapolis. Worse, an actual police shooting and death occurred during the trial. This resulted in a riot and curfew being imposed. A city councilwoman of Brooklyn Circle said she voted to fire the city manager because she was afraid if she didn’t she would be targeted by the mob.

You have, on the record, a city council member saying she voted a certain way out of fear. A juror lives in that city. It would be a grave injustice, like the trial itself, to not overturn on appeal.

To make maatters worse, in jury selection people were rejected on the basis that they claimed they would be in fear. The only way they would be in fear is if they were open-minded to the evidence and might decide in Chauvin's favour. So the jury selection process was already biased against Chauvin.

What happened to doctors Michael Baden and Allecia Wilson? Did they appear at the trial for the prosecution? The guys who gave the alternate autopsy that formed their prosecution (these people claimed he died of asphyxia from combined neck and back compression which is the same arguments the prosecution was making throughout the trial)? Did they even submit into evidence this autopsy, which they never provided to the public originally?

Re: Derek Chauvin Trial - Day 14 - LiveStream
I have heard some suggestion that the judge ruled the autopsy could not be admitted as evidence due to biases from the coroner who performed it having been hired to do an autopsy on a previous death of an African American in another case. But the person stated he didn't know for sure.

The fact that it is not easy to find makes me think the prosecution and media are hiding something...

Also, the prosecution didn't mention that report the judge ruled they couldn't. They surmised from another report the inverse relationship to show he couldn't have been subjected to abnormal amounts of carbon monoxide poisoning which was permitted.

I also searched and searched for a report from Baden's autopsy, and as far as I know it was never released to the public.

Which is pretty fucking sketchy, and I think I know why. During his press conference he said he had not examined the internal organs yet because the county medical examiner still had them... I believe he said he was going to examine them once they were released and then would give out more info.

I'm guessing he either never did, or did and found things they didn't want to get out.
