NBC News: Grocery Prices going through the Roof this Year | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80171289 United States 04/13/2021 11:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.nbcnews.com (secure)] Quoting: Doctor Congo From the article: "Shoppers had better start budgeting more for their grocery bills, according to the latest consumer price index, which shows prices are increasing — and they’re likely to keep going up. The monthly consumer price index, released Tuesday morning by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, showed a 0.6 percent increase in March, the largest one-month increase in nearly a decade. Over the past year, prices have increased 2.6 percent overall." One example is bacon is up more than a dollar a pound in some major cities. Supply problems are causing most of the increases and those problems are not going away thanks to Biden and liberal state governors. And it is going to get worse. This is a very good year for everyone to start growing a garden. this is Trump's legacy it's called hyperinflation. Trump spent 13 trillion dollars on a fake Pandemic, what did you think was going to happen. now he gets to sit on a golf cart in florida. washing his hands from the covid19 hoax, and blaming Biden for the mess Donald Trump created.... "Fake Pandemic" Yeah ok retard..go take your meds now |

And it is going to get worse. Quoting: Doctor Congo Although large parts of the economy transcend politics per se, having corrupt, greedy, sleazy liberals in the White House and elsewhere do make a bad situation even worse. When some of the food-supply chain got stomped on by the closure of restaurants due to Covid, I hoped the larger amount of food left over for grocery stores would lower prices. No such luck. |

What used to be about a $250 grocery list is now about $325....same things, same amount. I've asked my relatives in the south and they say they haven't felt the same punch in the gut. Maybe it's regional right now??? Quoting: Michael Gordon Peterson You all get murdered on grocery prices out west. That was a big factor in moving back east for me. That and the meth, wildfires, illegal immigration, and taxes. |

The freezer can only hold so much. We are also seeing empty parts of shelves too. Even the original food sources are have issues for the same reason. Not enough food is being produced and its expensive to ship it. Supply and demand. This was planned. Wait until the full impact of the trillions they continue to print kicks in after a few months. I have boxes of BIC lighters also, that's about the most value for something small of use you can buy. Maybe the government will save us with digital food stamps for all, I'm sure the bread and cheese will be delicious and not made out of bugs. |

Your own idiotic left-leaning Aunt Betsy or idiotic liberal cousins Jack and Susan or idiotic leftwing in-laws Fred and Ethyl deserve as much blame as the people and group you're singling out. User ID: 74453523 United States 04/13/2021 12:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Liberals should be happy about this.... it is mostly a BLM tax.... All the burning.. looting ... and just plain old stealing is part of the reason for the price hikes... the losses get spread out all over retail... Higher Insurance rates Additional security Woke assed policies and employee “training” Covid countermeasures Higher fuel costs are a real price increase driver... All those multimillion dollar donations to BLM and their ilk... If you think shareholders and Executives are going to bear these bullshit costs... well they are not... they are gonna make you pay more for their shit Every time the government spends more money... that they do not have... well they just print it up... but when they do that ... the value of your dollars gets diluted... so you need more dollars to buy the same shit. There are many huge companies that have products in your grocery store... and in Auto Zone also... so when Auto Zone gets looted and burned... they increase the price of their other products that are on the grocery store shelves... All this social justice/reparations spending that is occurring without your approval or consent... well guess what? If you are not a super rich person... you are gonna be paying for that shit.. whether you like it or not... Bitcoin is another example.... when bitcoin went from say $5000 to $60000 The Government did not print more money to cover that increase.... That extra money is coming out of your pocket if you do not own bitcoin... And if you do own bitcoin... you should keep that knowledge to yourself... because when milk and bread get really expensive in the future... people are gonna be madder than hell... Mexico Grows Opium Poppies and makes Shitloads of Heroin!! And Meth!! And Fentanyl!!! Such Good Neighbors!!! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80153438 United States 04/13/2021 12:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | From the same main stream article: Quoting: Doctor Congo "Issues like higher gas prices, increasing transport costs that get passed on to consumers, especially for items like bread, are only going up as driving increases faster than oil production. So grocery prices are likely to remain on the higher end of estimates for at least the rest of the year, Olvera said. Producers may eventually increase their output in order to capture the heightened demand, but that won’t happen until toward the end of this year, Olvera said." and "The White House said Monday that it expects inflation to go up — and not go back down." ----------------- So the White House and their lackeys in the media are admitting this now. They would never say this unless it is going to be much worse. Fuels have really just started to rise in the last 2 months so higher fuel expenses will raise prices even further, Wait till Diesel tops $4 a Gallon!! it's like a repeat from the Obama Day's in more ways then just food and fuel prices!! Yes, I have two diesels gmc 2500 and f250. Ive seen the prices rise recently. I was searching for tires last week and those prices are going up. Better get tires now. What I paid four years ago are going from 350ea to 500. |
