What used to be about a $250 grocery list is now about $325....same things, same amount. I've asked my relatives in the south and they say they haven't felt the same punch in the gut. Maybe it's regional right now??? |

So grocery prices are likely to remain on the higher end of estimates for at least the rest of the year, Olvera said. Producers may eventually increase their output in order to capture the heightened demand, but that won’t happen until toward the end of this year, Olvera said." and "The White House said Monday that it expects inflation to go up — and not go back down." ----------------- So the White House and their lackeys in the media are admitting this now. They would never say this unless it is going to be much worse. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80241661 Canada 04/13/2021 11:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The weekly grocery bill has been going up steadily for 4 years straight with the only difference being that now the smaller packaging sizes that they have been using to charge the same price that are now finally catching up with this inflation shake down using economic warfare to solve that pesky social security insolvency issue and medicare entitlements |

Quoting: Michael Gordon Peterson And with the Restaurants and Sporting events reopening things are going to get a lot higher, I read somewhere that they expect shortages in Burgers, Hotdogs, bacon, Ketchup, coffee and various Breads, Buns and Rolls because of all the reopening's, there were many other foods on that list but this all i could remember! would rather have it & not need it then need it & not have it |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80045585 France 04/13/2021 11:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Inflation getting worse, we knew this was coming. They are lying about it, it is not supply problems on all these different products that have nothing to do with each other. Intelligent people have already picked up on it, they are buying up assets that will hold value for when the collapse comes like land, gold, silver, homes etc. |

(OP) User ID: 80242659 United States 04/13/2021 11:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's worldwide. COVID lockdowns are causing it and the elite admit it, laughing at us. Squirm untermensch, squirm. Here is another mainstream media article from a month ago: [link to www.bloomberg.com (secure)] "In Indonesia, tofu is 30% more expensive than it was in December. In Brazil, the price of local mainstay turtle beans is up 54% compared to last January. In Russia, consumers are paying 61% more for sugar than a year ago." "Consumers in the U.S., Canada and Europe won’t be immune either as companies — already under pressure from pandemic-related disruptions and rising transport and packaging costs — run out of ways to absorb the surge." |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 15766710 United States 04/13/2021 11:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Was in shock at the Albertsons last night, thank God for discount stores. But even the dollar store had much smaller snack size packages for a dollar. Everything keeps shrinking. Sometimes it is a matter of things being sold in packages of 5 instead of 6, sneaky stuff like that. The sale flier was teeny compared to normal, produce section was out of the question, have to go to the 99 cent store for that, although they are also doubling prices on some produce. |

Fuels have really just started to rise in the last 2 months so higher fuel expenses will raise prices even further, Wait till Diesel tops $4 a Gallon!! it's like a repeat from the Obama Day's in more ways then just food and fuel prices!! would rather have it & not need it then need it & not have it |

They are cutting off the fuel to drive up prices. Gas will be $10 a gallon by Xmas (and so will milk). Socialists hate the poor and middle class. Comments have been disabled. |

I don't buy expensive steaks or things like that so maybe that stuff's going up. I wouldn't know. My people- infants are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, your guides mislead you and they have swallowed up the course of your paths. "Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan, I will now arise," says the Lord |

The monthly consumer price index, released Tuesday morning by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, showed a 0.6 percent increase in March, the largest one-month increase in nearly a decade. Over the past year, prices have increased 2.6 percent overall." One example is bacon is up more than a dollar a pound in some major cities. Supply problems are causing most of the increases and those problems are not going away thanks to Biden and liberal state governors. And it is going to get worse. This is a very good year for everyone to start growing a garden. this is Trump's legacy it's called hyperinflation. Trump spent 13 trillion dollars on a fake Pandemic, what did you think was going to happen. now he gets to sit on a golf cart in florida. washing his hands from the covid19 hoax, and blaming Biden for the mess Donald Trump created.... |

Does this make sense to someone who knows more about economics? |
