I was trying to warn my dad about the vaccines. I am an RN I work in a hospital. I have been telling him for a year that this whole thing is bullshit. The government is lying, the media is lying, hospital managers are lying. He and his wife locked themselves down over covid and all the drama for a year, had food delivered. Refused to go near grandkids.

They both went running for the vaccine and are now all happy because they can "go out again". I sent them all the information about those not-a-vaccine shots and the response was "that is conspiracy theory", and "we believe in science". They don't know a damn thing about science. "Bill Gates is a great guy".

I told them I would refuse the covid shot (it's not a vaccine) even if it means loss of job. Dad's response was "I hope they hold you down to get it" and a diatribe about how he and his wife were locked down for a year and couldn't go on vacation because of "covid and stupid anti-vaxxers".

He asked me what I do at work if patients want a vaccine. I told him that I tell the patient that I don't do vaccines and hand them over to a co-worker and pick up another task. He said that is a bad nurse. But I am not giving stuff to my patients that I don't trust.

I really don't understand what has happened to them. Their generation is often very narcissistic and low information, and smug as they smirk out the conspiracy theory label.
