There are a large majority of people that own guns. In my Red State, almost everyone owns guns except for 1 fellow who is a Democrat...

It's good to own multiple weapons that shoot the same caliber. If one jambs, you just reach for another of the same caliber. Plus, multiple family members could be shooting the same caliber and increase firepower...

Assuming that there are 400 million guns out there,( probably a lot more than that) but only 100 million gun owners.( which itself is BS):
Every person can use and carry two guns.
Say one rifle and one pistol. maybe not at the same time , but they have different purposes and uses.
Then another unarmed 100 million people can pick up the unused weapons and carry them. Also consider that a good percentage of them are former military.

As far as defeating an enemy, small arms work better than high tech BS. They last few wars proved that to the military dummies.
Everyone with a brain ,always knew that only boots on the ground controlling every foot of ground allows you to subdue and conquer a country.
Now 200+ million armed civilians is a bigger army than China can boast of,( Most of china's army are conscripts to start with and most of them are in reserve units, with little training, no transports or supplies).

Somewhat by Comparison, the US only has a few hundred thousand actual combat soldiers, the rest are in reserves and support services, for a total of roughly 2 million soldiers

Many citizens do not own guns. Enough citizens own quite a few guns with ammo.

Those 2 factors together, add a significant threat event and those with guns will be distributing some of their armory to their unarmed friends and neighbors. 80-100 million armed citizens will go to ~280M armed citizens within an hour or two.

Don't get me wrong, I'm prepared to dig in and fight. But I'm also a realist. While the numbers look good, there is little to no coordination among these owners. Sure we have reservists but at what capability levels. You must be able to mobilize, survive the elements, put critical mass at point of conflict fairly quickly. Attack and counter attack. The logistics alone will be incredibly difficult. How is a gun owner in Buffalo going to help someone in Austin. How do you take down a tank or helicopter. You might get a couple here and there, but any sustained battle without all kinds of planning and resources would be futile. And imagine having everyone outfitted to fight in a foot of snow.

And believe me, I will make that "last stand" if it becomes necessary, but the real battle is in the political arena where laws and policy is set and courts are appointed. This is why Trump's appointments were such a key point.

Obviously not familiar with gun culture, but does have a point. The fight is for the cultural norms first, no one wants to wait until armed conflict is all that’s left.

It may not be stated but I am not viewing this as a bunch of transgender blue haired liberals sparing with a small militia but rather a military or police operation, or perhaps even a UN troops operation at some point. And if a foreign army (aka. China) becomes involved...then it's probably lights out.

In a citizen on citizen skirmish, I have no doubt who would win...but if some sort of communist compliance is going to be enforced it will not be citizens doing it, it will be an organized, well armed, well resourced group of some sort.

Asymmetrical ambushes and one-shot-run-like-hell snipers by the 10's of millions will tear apart any organized invasion. Image the 2002 beltway sniper case times 10 million.

Not everyone is fit, in their 30s, and ex military, and certainly not geographically located together. And to organize into a large "covert" group capable of responding in a coordinated fashion just seems highly unlikely. You and your friends could probably do it no problem. But try and mobilize even just 10,000 average civilians to arrive at a certain location, be equipped and ready to engage in a gun battle and be effective. Travel, chain of command, communication, food, shelter, risk, capability. All things to deal with....and be under the radar about it all.

With laws still enforced, how many averagers are willing to risk going to prison for life? Without laws enforced, then it has probably already devolved into a military action.

And remember...about half the nation is probably not on your side.

I know of 4 households that did not own guns. They never dreamed of owning guns. They all have $$ Now they are scrambling to buy guns and ammo at any price. Buying box of ammo for 90 bucks. Buying guns at 3 times what they cost months ago. I warned them years ago. I was the nut. Now their on my phone asking all kinds of basic questions in panic mode. Amazing how that works.

OK, point taken. My angle with this post is that the fight is on all fronts not just with gun in hand. As we have learned, politics at all levels matter...alot. From school board representative to President of the US, all these positions have a huge impact. The conservative leaners were asleep these last couple of decades while the liberals were working their way into positions of power. Now they are in our board rooms, class rooms, MSM, and our government. It is an infestation that will end this country if we don't stop it at those levels.

He absolutely has a point everyone in big cities will die due to supply chains first, but occupying the US is insane it would take 50 million soldiers especially since the weapons are already evenly distributed and could be in any house or hand. I doubt a coalition of Russia China Mexico couldn’t even transport a tenth of the force needed to occupy California without any US response.
