I for one, maybe the only one, congratulate the Brits for their ramp up of vaccinations ... BUT ... ONE shot is NOT really a complete vaccination, EACH PERSON NEEDS TWO SHOTS to reach full vaccination.

Britain took a shortcut deciding to get at least ONE shot into as many people as it could before it went strongly for giving the second shot. That has allowed GB to get at least one jab into a higher percentage of people than any other advanced country other than Israel.

The US on the other hand is keeping to the schedule of 2nd shots that were tested by the drug companies which means that fewer are jabbed as a percentage but MORE are 2nd jabbed than anyplace except Israel (if I recall the data from last week correctly).

By Memorial Day in the US (May 31, 2021), another 50 days+- the US vaccination rate is going to be very very high since they are now doing about 3.5 million jabs a day (that is 87.5 million people getting double jabs by June 1), and the rate may well hit 5 million a day by early May. Added to the 73 million who have already received two doses by June 1 the US will have AT LEAST 160 million vaccinated or 1/2+- of it's 330 million people TOTALLY vaccinated.

46,600,000 in the US have had one dose and are awaiting a second dose, which will be done by May 1, which means that as of May 1 the US will have 119,000,000 +- totally vaccinated (more than 1/3 of the US population)
