What does it mean when I hear a dull "clunk" every time I lift my foot off the gas pedal to shift? | |

Check your fallopian tubes. Familiarity breeds contempt. I came into this world fighting screaming and covered in someone else's blood. I have no problem going out the same way. Pain is a wonderful teacher, we just don't always know the lesson. |

Think of it as a second flywheel that's softly sprung and can turn somewhat in relationship to the first one. The springs like to break, and then the mass of the second inertia plate isn't controlled. So it begins to clunk on direction changes. accel/decel. |

Reverse the drive shaft nilds as they might be out of balance causing a harmonic imbalance which due to transitory reflection syndrome sound like a 'clunk'. It happened some years ago in my Yugo. Which now has over 600,000 miles on it. It is also my home. I also work at home. I am my own grandpa. And it's my birthday today. 74. |
