I've read this story a few times today in different locations, and I don't think it is saying what people think it is.

It's not saying that unvaccinated are safer.

It is saying the unvaccinated are much more likely to be infected with one of the regular strains of COVID than with the South African strain.

Because the SA strain is so rare and the unvaccinated are susceptible to any strain, they contract the common strain far more often then the SA strain.

However, since vaccinated people are protected against the common strain, when they do become infected, they are likely to be infected with the SA strain.

So people concluding the unvaccinated person is safer are wrong.

However, the real story is that this corroborates some of the speculation of immunity escape leading to much worse pandemic. Because the vaccinated people are safe from the common strain, they are now much more likely to catch and become infectious with the more dangerous SA strain. They then become spreaders, except unlike unvaccinated people who are spreadin the less virulent common strain, they are spreading the much more dangerous SA strain.

In short, vaccination of some people is putting the unvaccinated people in more danger as the vaccinated people are more likely to contract and spread the more virulent SA strain.

Indeed - and how. Those vaccinated with the Pfizer mRNA vax were 8x (eight!) more susceptible to the South African variant than an unvaccinated person.

This was 100% predicted by the way by Geert Vanden Bossche. He explains why in this video (start at minute 6).

What happens? Simply put, the mRNA vaccines force the creation of antibodies against the classic COVID strain. The antibodies produced by the mRNA vaccines can’t affect the variants but the problem is that they still bind to the virus. Antibodies that can still bind but not neutralize a virus still have affinity for the virus that is higher than your natural antibodies.

That suppresses the natural antibodies and thus makes the vaccinated person more vulnerable. Note: not to all variants of course but the nasty ones, like S.Africa and Brazil.

So this study is consistent with that but if he’s right this is going to be more and more obvious as the vaccination rate increases (with Pfizer and Moderna especially).

Vaccinated people are now immune suppressed and have a lifelong immune disorder against all coronaviruses except for the original.

How can you read the reports, or the study, and arrive at that conclusion? This is bizarre - it’s the opposite of what it says.

Yep. So, we should expect to see exactly what Geert predicted. That in the places with the most fastest vaccination programs, like Israel and the UK, in a few weeks or months time from now we will see a massive jump in cases of people infected with new variants.

In Israel's case, the South African variant (or another one, like the Brazilian, Indian, Philippines etc) will get hold, and the next wave will be considerably bigger than the last one. And, it will mostly be those who have been vaccinated because their innate immune system will have been compromised by the acquired immunity received from the vaccines.
