Well, no one supporting "defund the police" actually literally wants the police "defunded", like totally. I don't know who is naming all these movements but they're doing them no favors. (BLM, defund the police).

What "defund the police" wants is for some of police funding to go into other types of programs/projects that would help deal with different types of situations or help prevent them all together in the community. So like instead of a police station receiving military grade equipment that might instead be sold off and the money from that would be invested into the community in ways that would prevent crime and/or in ways to handle specific calls more specifically.

Only the most radical people are saying we need to do away with police all together.

All though there is a very real rot in the nations police force. But that's a different subject.

There is reasonable doubt. So much so in fact his dealer/friend/eye witness will not testify to the events leading up to Floyd's death. Why is that? Well he is afraid he will be charged, if you sell someone drugs and they die you can be charged with 2nd degree murder.

There are millions and millions and millions of people who support the police

And yes there are crazy people who literally are calling for police to be disbanded in cities

And the only way the inner cities are going to get better is by investing in themselves.. talk is cheap I actually work in an inner city.. I see what goes down

And those areas get infested with gangs.. and gangs bring heavy police presence

And gang presence makes cops nervous
