Yes it is up to him to lead by example. Most warriors think they are doing their God's will, so it's about time he gave them some different marching orders.

The reason they love war is because when people are killed on the battlefield, their soul is in turmoil and remains earthbound after death, where they are easily pulled down into the lower dark plains and made to keep on fighting among the lost souls there. It's very sad. The battlefields are filled with the lost wandering souls of those killed in battle who are continuing to fight thinking they still have physical bodies, locked in their excitement and anger, not knowing anything else except to fight.
