If they get fired let us know, but the thing that confuses me, why would someone so intelligent get the vaccine?

It's not about intelligence, it's about having a love of truth. Jesus did say He came not to bring peace, but a sword. There is a big seperating of the wheat and tares happening right now, imo. Part of the strength of the normalcy bias comes from a person's reliance on the system for a positive self-identity. I see smart doctors and lawyers and computer scientists lining up for the shot because they want to believe in the system which gives them their status.
